I've been busy removing the inner skins and the old a/c unit. getting ready to raise the roof!
Why a Bus House?
People ask why we're building a bus house and there are so many reasons. Here's just a few! :)
The first is because we're going to be moving a lot with Justin's career and we hate packing/ unpacking. With every move things are damaged and lost, there's the cost of rental equipment, extra stress, and not to mention the time it takes to physically move all our stuff from one place to another.
Another reason is because we will rarely have the ability to view rentals before moving into them. Things may look fine and dandy online but can be a total mess in person. We've been lucky so far, but it just takes that one move to be disastrous, right? Also, while we may be able to afford buying a house or renting throughout Justin's career, we'd rather not have a mortgage or spend on rent. There's other things we'd like to put our money towards such as travel or kids education.
Lastly, we both recently graduated college and are used to living in small dorms with the essentials. We don't want to or need to "upgrade" our living style. We'd rather be frugal now, save money, and then one day use that to build our dream home on our dream land when we settle down to one location. For now, a small home is exactly what we want.
The biggest reason though is we just love building things! How awesome will it be to say we built our own house and own it outright!? It's fun project we both look forward to and are excited to put our own unique style into it!
