Please read description! This is only step 1 of a much bigger project. Step 1 is accurate linework of various common types of wheelchair/powerchair. Step 2 will be simplifying these into more basic "cartoony" shapes, retaining the important factors of each and disregarding unneccesary elements. I want to get down to the most basic portrayals of each type that are easy to draw for illustrators, without getting things wrong. That's going to take a fair amount of trial and error. btw please feel free to use these as references (in fact if you are intending to draw any characters who are wheelchair users PLEASE use these as references rather than google image rubbish which will give you outdated, incorrect and awful old wheelchairs unless you know the right search terms to use.) The purpose of these is ultimately to help prevent artists unknowingly drawing bad, ableist and outdated representations of disability. And remember - powerchairs do not necessarily equal "worse" disability. Disability is a spectrum, and 90% of wheelchair/powerchair users can stand and even walk to varying degrees. Different people need different mobility aids according to many varying factors.
