Being so friendly and treating Serika like if she is a very old friend and then he gives her a offer she can't (literally!) refuse?

Xander is a very manipulative person who knows how to hit your weak spots, a predator who will take advantage of your weakness so it's not wonder the protagonist is always keeping her cards close to her chest and in ep1, tried to pacify Xander while making him remember what she did for him a long time ago...

I prefer this Xander more and yes, I know, I am just stating my preference.

It's not wonder Serika fears him and hate him in equal parts because Xander is a textbook example of why some people definitively don't deserve help, they will take advantage because you are kind and that's exactly what Xander did.

Of course, we don't know exactly what Serika did for him so I am probably jumping to conclusions but hey, speculation and theories are fun after all.
