Finn being front and center on the rise of the resistance Disneyland ride…specifically catered to me
I bet when Episode VIII comes out Finn’s plotline is going to be him struggling with his identity as a soldier and realizing that most of his talents are war-related and feeling upset about that...but also using these talents to accept responsibility and save lives.
Think about it: he’s a former soldier, and now the Resistance is recruiting new members. The Resistance is fine and all when it comes to military stuff, but most of them are volunteers and a lot of them haven’t been in war. Finn’s been training for war his whole life, so even without proper combat experience, he knows basic things like rank-and-file organization, weapon maintenance, drills, shift-changes, rationing, and all sorts of other military stuff.
So he sees the sloppy Resistance running around and realizes “Oh, kriff, the First Order’s going to tag-team this fleet and exhaust them, wear them down through numbers, and then finish them when everyone’s asleep at their posts.” So he’s going to have to take charge--but he’s also going to worry about turning everyone into mindless drones.
Enter this new Rose Tico character, who can help him along with some lessons about how she’s a mechanic and she’s still an individual.
It’ll contrast really nicely with Rey’s plotline where she’s deciding if she wants to train to be a Jedi or not--because really, it’s a lot of responsibility. She has powers she never asked for, and she has people she wants to protect, but to be asked to dedicate her life to this cause? That’s something else (and I can’t wait to see it--an exploration of the demands of war, a revelation that the Jedi were not some power-hungry group, but actually a clan that would have LOVED to use their powers for serving pears and Extreme Sports, but understood that their abilities to protect others meant that they needed to use their powers for everyone but themselves).
I just wish they’d hurry up and announce a release date.
when you have a deep rage burning inside of you but you gotta act nice cause you at work
I'll come right out and say it, I'm gonna go see The Last Jedi in theaters but it's going to be for the sake of two characters only
And that's Finn and Rose. Okay and maybe Artoo too. I'd say I was going for Leia, but I already know she deserves better than what Disney has given her in their backstory craziness. Let the woman be happy, Disney!!
Considering all the weirdness Disney has been pulling with characterization, I've decided to classify this series as an odd spinoff like the Cade Skywalker stories, or that one time when Palpatine cloned himself and Luke turned to the Dark Side to try to bring Palpatine down from the inside. That was exceedingly weird.
But Finn and Friends have no connections to the past so far, and I do want to know where his story goes.
I’m sure that last post was for another fanbase, but all I can think of is Finn getting down with an ancient and flaming DJ
Hi, I haven’t seen anything of Stranger Things other than season 4, so I don’t go here, but that 001 guy is transmasc and no I won’t elaborate
