Meryta and her family

Meryta is the youngest of 3 sisters, and I wanted to put some names and faces on her family. These are vanilla so in the starting area, and it was last minute before my sub ran out, unfortunately it was raining in Gridania, apologies and I hope you still enjoy.

Meryta was born into the Khatayin tribe, but changed her name to Khatin while travelling in Eorzea - she initially ran away from home when she was forbidden to enter the Nadaam like her older sisters, but reconciled with her family later. Now Khatin is the name she is known by, and it suits her fine - also to not have people from her tribe have strangers inquire about her if they travel.

Father - Udutai Khatayin

Protective and strict, he loves all his daughters fiercely and wants to shield them from the world. He does not originally come from the Khatayin tribe, but moved to the mountains to be with his husband. Meryta gets her love of cooking from him.

Dad - Baatu Khatayin

As protective as his husband, he enjoys teaching his children to be self-sufficient, like his own parents before him. He is a master archer and originally taught both Meryta and her older sisters.

Aralia Khatayin - Oldest sister

Aralia is an archer like Meryta and her dad, but she is also skilled in conjuration and healing magic. Mostly, she is content to herd goats and practice healing rather than fight - but like most xaela she is a capable warrior still. She is 7 years older than Meryta. She lives with her parents still, but is seeing a woman from another tribe.

Panax Khatayin - Middle sister

Panax is a fierce warrior, and enjoys her martial skill with the axe. She serves as one of the protectors of the tribe. She is 5 years older than Metyta, and went to the Naadam the year the Calamity happened, and in the confusion did not return home until more than a year later. She now lives with the Khatayin tribe with her husband and their small children.

Meryta Khatin (Khatayin) - Youngest sister

Meryta always wanted to be an archer, stealing her sisters bow until her dad fashioned her a smaller one she could use. Her fondest memories are training with him, as he also pointed out plants and bushes. When she was old enough to go to the Naadam, both her parents were reluctant, because they had been worried for Panax, and Meryta is the youngest, the baby. She argued fiercely with her father, and took off - avoiding the Naadam though, and travelled to Eorzea to prove herself as a warrior. She did write them to ensure her safety, but she did not visit until her travels to free Doma took her back east.
