Where we left off: Hopper has insisted Owens and co handle their own damn monster problem for once, to the despair of The Party. El has equally insisted she refuses to let anyone (even Stewart) die if she is able to prevent it. Gareth's anxiety about monsters trying to take off with one of Eddie's legs flipped to what Steve's reaction would be when Eddie outed himself in an argument. Thankfully, Hellfire's jock rather pointedly insisted he will not be abandoning them any time soon, no matter how much queerness, self esteem issues, and horrible screechy metal music is involved.
Also Hopper promised Joyce he'd apologize to Eddie at some point. That point isn't in this chapter but neither Joyce nor I have forgotten he agreed to do it.
