This has been bothering me for a while. So. That scene where Ahsoka is meditating in the remains of a Jedi temple and Anakin’s spirit speaks to her; I think it’s up to interpretation what’s going on there. Whether it’s Ahsoka’s guilt over leaving the Jedi Order, or if it’s Anakin’s angry emotions manifesting through the force, but either way it’s devastating

Ahsoka isn’t exactly sure of Anakin’s whereabouts after the events of Order 66, but she does suspect Vader is her former master, and she’s probably blaming herself— her leaving the Jedi Order and not having the time to speak to Anakin before and during the Siege of Mandalore— for Anakin becoming such a twisted, angry soul.

Anakin, as he was during the Clone Wars, is completely overshadowed by Vader. Vader has taken over Anakin, with all the pain, hate, and suffering, and pushes everything Anakin had and was away. If this scene was Anakin’s emotions manifesting through the force, Anakin was practically begging for help from her, but she wasn’t able to help him.

I honestly believe it may be a mix of both. The way Ahsoka tells Vader that she won’t leave him, “not this time,” during Twilight of the Apprentice, Ahsoka definitely blames herself for Anakin turning, and hoped to save him. And, as much as I wish Ahsoka could have helped Anakin, undoing 16+ years of pain, suffering, and manipulation with one phrase isn’t possible.

Anakin’s fall to the dark side is incredibly interesting to analyze. And I don’t want to do it from an edgy “Anakin was right, he’s so cool” dudebro perspective, because honestly what Anakin did during the events of Revenge of the Sith and all through out the Empire era were terrible. Anakin was most definitely traumatized and mentally ill from his time being a slave for Watto (and I do not intend to say that him being mentally ill excuses his actions) and Palpatine’s manipulation combined with the lies and deceit from the Jedi Council all contributed to his fall.

Anakin truly cared for Ahsoka, the best way he could. I’ve noticed his love language involves being incredibly protective. We’ve seen this with his mother, Padmé, and Obi Wan (during the time he was undercover as a bounty hunter), and he’s fought so much for Ahsoka to be safe while she was his padawan.

Ahsoka cares of Anakin just as much. She, canonically, sees him as a brother to her (see one of her conversations with Trace Martez in season 7).

I love Ahsoka and Anakin’s relationship so much. I’ve gotten so incredibly off track I apologize.
