oohhh... oooohhhh... i am feeling faint at the idea of númenor having deathbed companions somewhat in the style of elden ring. my númenor has a very deeply culturally entwined death cult. i did elaborate on it some in the past— but the thought of wishing to house the soul in a willing recipient, becoming pregnant with it in a figurative sense, only to give its life force back to one who is on the precipice of death is simply so enticing to me.

it would be an art that could never be, as mortal souls are bound to fade forever, though i like to think that there is a tradition of warming vaunted bones. in the hope of drawing them back to the realm of the living. an idea of rebirth given shape. the dead are not truly dead, their visage preserved beneath gauze and gold and gems. mourning family members would give themselves to the embrace of a deathbed companion, lending their warmth, which then will find the preserved bodies of beloved dead. a warmth to find them hopefully, in that distant place beyond the fabric of reality. as a dôlguzîr ( one who studies death ) , this is an art mordú too has practiced in his younger years, ruminating on the nature of the soul itself and its purpose as it flees the body.

I fully intend on finishing all the gf requests and drafts I started but I will probably not stick to gf for much longer :(
