Um not to be emo but my Renegade shepard was once someone who actually genuinely smiled and laughed and had a sense of humor. But then her mentor and caretaker died from an illness since he and her basically were broke and couldn't pay for healthcare. After that she had nowhere to go and decided to join the military and well... She didn't become close to anyone and basically stopped feeling, don't get attached and you don't get hurt... And then she went and fell for Thane and we all know how that ended... Basically, when she finally for the first time let someone in and started to feel again, that person was also taken from her 🙃

I'm not saying she was ready to die at the end of the game but... She's tired of it all, of anything or anyone she loves to leave
