I am going to say that if you're a butch4butch lesbian and you try to co-opt the fujoshi-ifcation of cishet woman, and give that stigma to femmes for thinking a member of their fellow lesbian community is hot then this blog is not for you. This blog stands for allowing lesbians to be free to express their sexual desires for other lesbians so long as they're following consent.

I would HIGHLY ENCOURAGE those who feel this way to examine WHY you hold this belief system in the first place. Why are you co-opting a reactionary sentiment that started from a place of unexamined patriarchy within the greater LGBTQ+ community? Why do you feel that lateral discrimination is helping you? Are you actually setting boundaries or are you letting things outside of your sphere of control influence you into behaving in a long term unhelpful way? Are you living up to your core values as a lesbian? Would you say the things you're saying online to this person face to face without any interference from outside parties?

Lesbians as a whole are still WILDLY discriminated against outside of the Internet and even outside of the lesbian community on Tumblr. This place isn't perfect by any means because perfection is a standard that can't materially exist, but that doesn't mean we don't have a semi-decent culture going on here. So, I hate that I'm starting to see more and more blogs pop-up within the greater Tumblr lesbian space that engage in lateral discrimination because it makes this admittedly small place unsafe for our community. No matter if you like it or not, the people you aren't attracted to are still members of your community and deserve to be treated with basic courtesy. That means block and move on and NOT MAKE A BLOG DEDICATED TO HATING ON A SUBSECTION OF OUR COMMUNITY.

At the end of it all, you are responsible for your emotions and behaviors, and no one else can make you feel any certain type of way. They can influence it with their behaviors, sure, but they can't make you lash out. That's on you which means YOU have the opportunity to change which is empowering. Please do some soul searching, and ask what YOU want out of being an ACTIVE member of this community. (Do this in your private time offline preferably) Remember no one is making you be an active member of the community AND you have no obligations to be. That's a choice you make for your own self. You are empowered to make those choices.

And finally, if you read all of that and decide you're still in the right, stay the fuck away from my blog and the femmes that follow me. Me being a butch4butch dyke doesn't mean I won't whoop your sorry ass for coming for the femmes. I'm the oldest sibling and sister in my family and I certainly use that energy I learned to protect me and mine. So step the fuck off.

On Dysphoria

I think 98% of LGBTQ+ people have extensive dysphoria REGARDING THEIR SOCIETY. They are deeply dysphoric towards it and detest it and feel disgust and alienation from it. They find it fake, superficial, materialistic, even.

This is why so many LGBTQ+ people are communists, anarchists. They have an ideal of how society could look and be different.

Unfortunately, the dysphoria stays as long as the society is messed up. That is why I suggest you look to Nature for revolution.

I mean green, viney, twining Nature. Not the sex you were born with, though honestly, it is possible youll care less about your gender if you do.

You have to realize that what your parents didnt know and a portion of their parents didnt know either, is that weeds are edible. People stopped giving it as much thought since since the Industrial Revolution turned green spaces into factories with smoke and trash heaps of soot - in the late 1800s. This is fact. Okay so I know the Bi Butch Discourse is like, Internet Old now, but every so often I lie awake at night thinking of exactly this post where, in 2017, to justify her insistance that butch and femme are lesbian-only, Lane Localhorrorlesbian/mascpriv/female-husband cites:

A book that only uses the term "bisexual" to refer to women who were married to men, not a self-labeled identity, and then discusses their participation in the exact bar scene where butch and femme arose

A book that explicitly excluded from its sample the narratives of women who had Left The Lesbian Community despite having participated in it...i.e. ostensibly bisexual women who eventually married men

A book that contains a prominent side character who could be construed either as a trans man OR a butch who keeps her attraction to men secret

"Butch is a Noun," a book that contains one of my favorite poems about butch identity & arguments over its boundaries as the first fucking piece in the goddamn table of contents. The piece as a whole is a very tongue-in-cheek sequence of the speaker continually setting hard boundaries around the use of "butch" and then adding a bunch of exceptions, making it clear that those hard boundaries don't apply to how the term works in real life. One of those sequences is this paragraph: "Butches are always tops. They always fuck the girls, and, for that matter, their partners are always girls; there is no such thing as a butch who is attracted to men. Well, transmen, but that’s just butch-on-butch repackaged as faggotry. But no non-trans-men. Unless the butch in question is a non-trans-man, then it’s okay. Except that non-trans-men cannot be butches, because butch is a queering of gender that assigned-male people cannot embody, unless they occasionally can, in which case they have to be gay men. Or the partners of femmes. Or not. But no one with an assigned- female body can be a butch and do it with assigned-male men. Unless they’re femmes. Or butches. I’m really putting my foot down on this one."

It's the perfect, perfect example of how no one throwing these "sources" at bi/pan/queer butches like. Actually bothered to read them closely, or with bisexuality in mind, or...maybe at all.

(Incidentally, that paragraph from "Butch is a Noun" also defends all sorts of trans uses of the word "butch," and guess who's a big 'ol transmisogynist against trans women calling themselves butches or lesbians? Lane! And a lot of other folks who throw around these sources. And...not a lot of the folks who actually wrote them, especially Bergman, who now primarily identifies as a trans man & has collaborated w multiple trans women for other projects.)

butch is a form of gender expression, not a sexuality

many lesbians are butch, so some people on Tumblr believe that butchness is a form of gender expression only limited to lesbians

but gay men have been using the word butch for ages, especially in the leather scene.

this is an article from 2009 about how gay men relate to masculinity; gay men often use the word ‘butch’ to describe a traditionally masculine man

the university of montana has a definition of ‘butch’ in their glossary of LGBT terms:

“ Butch – A person who identifies themselves as masculine, whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally. ‘Butch’ is sometimes used as a derogatory term for lesbians, but it can also be claimed as an affirmative identity label. “

a straight person can be butch if they perform masculinity, especially if they’re not a cis straight man. because it’s a form of gender expression. it’s not limited to lesbians, and never has been.

Stag and Doe are for BI WOMEN!

To answer the question of “So what happens if a lesbian and a bi woman are together?”

Then you have a Butch/Doe or Stag/Femme pairing, or some variation of such. 

Bi women have their own terms- so stop stealing lesbian terms. 

Its not a difficult concept.
