Coffee is a hug in a mug💕 I remember when I returned home from school opening the door to the aroma of coffee and chitter chatter of mom’s friends from the neighborhood. Was always welcomed by many women into my own house lol:) “Welcome sheeba would you like something to eat? “ They would ask. Mom made lifelong friends over a cup of coffee and a big smile. She made sure no matter what her plan for the day was, she would always be home when we got back home from school. And everyday as I sip my cup of coffee I feel her sweet arms around me. 11/67 Rainbow wings. I am a rainbow child and my mom was very protective of me. She made sure that no harm would come near me. She stood before me protecting me from the darts thrown at me. She was there at every dance practice, every choir practice any party she was always by my side. 😁All my friends had to pass the mom&dad test before they could be my friends. 🤣 It sure was annoying while I was a teenager but I always understood their love towards me. My dad, brother and I were her world. Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for the love and affection she bestowed upon us. Even-though we miss her we know she is not alone and is in a better place. Life is short and very unpredictable I hope this rainbow butterfly encourages you be kind and loving always. I almost didn't want to post this butterfly as you can see it isn't perfect. It has holes and I was not really happy with it. But it reminded me of my mom. My mom was just like you and me, she wasn't perfect, she had limitations, disabilities, and weaknesses. BUT, none of those things stopped her from living her life to the fullest! It never stopped her from spreading her wings far and wide - beyond those boundaries. We are like this colorful butterfly with our imperfections and hold back and are afraid to stretch beyond those lines, boundaries, limits..... My mom's life was filled with color and adventure. She dared to spread her wings beyond those boundaries, beyond all those limitations and loved her life to the fullest. She traveled extensively and was never afraid to try new things. May this butterfly bring you that courage to look beyond your limitations and spread your wings far and beyond! . My mom was always there at every parent teacher meeting. She never ever missed a performance that I participated in. She stood in the front lines cheering for me. She was my biggest critique and the one who encouraged me at the same time. Though it may seem like an oxymoron, it sure helped me push beyond my limits and spread my wings. . I am never comfortable sharing my feelings but even now she is the reason I am spreading my wings to fly. Painting these butterflies have brought sooo much peace and happiness. It has given me strength to endure what life has thrown my way. Another reason why I chose butterflies as a tribute for my mom was because her life vanished soo quickly. She loved her grandkids a lot and will not be here to watch them laugh, dance, play the violin or piano nor she will be able to see them graduate or watch them get married to the love of their lives. Cancer took all of that away from her. But it couldn’t take away her love for God and her family and friends! Mom you will be missed! May these butterflies give you strength to overcome anything that life throws at you. A tribute to my mom. One of the reasons I chose butterflies to honor mom was because she loved colors. She was always dressed in bright colors and was always on trend!
