AI is the most evil, vile thing mankind has created in a long time AND it has strangely made me comfortable with the imperfections in my art and writing because those imperfections means a HUMAN made it. And I’m not talking about the mechanical imperfections that AI can make, those imperfections that reveal how INHUMAN AI is, I’m talking about the human imperfections of someone still learning proportion, experimenting with color theory, trying out poetry for the first time, telling a story that’s maybe too complicated for them but they’re stretching their writing muscles and yeah the plots a little clunky but it’s also beautiful and have you read their latest story? Have you seen how much they’ve improved because they took the time to challenge themselves? Or that DIY podcaster that does all the voices and sounds effects and edits themselves because they can’t afford to have a team but they love their story so much it HAS to be told, even if it’s obviously DIY And the “imperfections” that aren’t really imperfections, they’re just different from how the majority does this type of art and I did it on purpose because it’s an integral part of my voice.

AI makes me appreciate the human imprint on art in ways I never even knew were possible and I hope and pray that AI will push people to find and embrace the real and the imperfect and the rough and the DIY because to try and fail, to try and get scratched up and have those scratches leave some blood behind, to try and be absolutely beautiful while also being absolutely imperfect, to dedicate one’s life to something very few people “value” not to “master” it, but because to not do it (no matter how imperfect the outcome) would kill your “soul”, that’s what it means to be human.
