Life has been relentless but from time to time I really, really miss writing fics. But honestly, I’d be lying if I said it feels like I haven’t partially, if not totally, lost my fire and knack for it 😭😭

Feels like I’m at the point where I may as well start over because so many years have passed now… crazy work huh

Writing question for my fellow readers and writers bc it genuinely eats at me sometimes:

How do y’all feel about fics written in the present-tense vs past tense?? For example, a sentence written as:

(Present) “The character walks into their home and closes the door.”

(Past) “The character walked into their home and closed the door.”

It’s something that has always bothered me so much with writing.. I’ve always naturally defaulted to past-tense when I write fics but sometimes I get self-conscious or notice that a lot of other fics are written in present-tense…

So TLDR; is it just a stylistic preference or do you guys care?

How do you like reading/writing your fics?

Present-tense (“he yawns”)

I’m so sorry for not writing for so long… I doubt anyone is still sticking around for my mp100 fics anymore but to those who were excited, I’m sorry it took me so long to bring anything to fruition

I try to treat writing as something I do when I feel like it but it’s been hard finding the motivation and inspiration these days to start/continue wips. I do enjoy writing these fics both for myself and to share with others and I know I want to keep doing so, but I just don’t know when I’ll feel good about my writing again. That being said, thanks guys for the support if you’re still around :’) I’m glad that I can share my self indulgence with everyone when I feel ready
