MISS! I KNOW you watched the HTGAWM finale and I NEED to hear your thoughts!
I don’t even. Like, I can’t even… I’m still processing.
I just have so many downright debilitating emotions regarding the entire thing. I almost lack the articulation for them. From start to finish… I enjoyed the way they managed to weave in all the happenings from past episodes and certain aspects of characters finally being truly revealed. Structurally, I thought it was superb.
The scene between Annalise and Sam in the beginning was disgusting, but executed so well that I was both moved and felt sick to my stomach. Strange juxtaposition. The writers really went there with that entire exchange. It was gut wrenching. Completely revealing how downright sickening and evil Sam really was. It also shined so much light on Annalise because her loving a man that monstrous obviously affected her in countless ways but seeing all of that vile vitriol verbalized in that shocking, hateful, and abusive manner was jarring.
Michaela’s sheer and utter panic from all the flashbacks obviously seems well placed now. I started to feel, maybe an episode or so ago, that perhaps she was the one to inadvertently kill Sam because of her incredibly demonstrative reaction. So I was glad they gave some credence to her unraveling. It was enough that she was an accomplice by being there but it layered her reaction in an effective way.
THAT ENDING THO.
LIKE…
While I’m still incredibly frustrated with Wes deciding he was gonna bend over backwards, frontwards, and sideways for Rebecca based on no real reasons that seem concrete or have been explored in depth, I am wholly and emphatically excited to see how that transfers into him acting similarly, and perhaps more fervently, in regards to Annalise. Because we just saw glimmers of it with the coin toss, going back for the body, how methodical he was in all his actions after he realized that she knew.
What trips me out more than anything is that they are both forced to trust each other now. Never mind how convoluted that dynamic was BEFORE all of this went down. Now???? Please… it’s a wrap.
Also, Annalise is legitimately a mastermind. The brain on that lady is other wordly. I see people theorizing that she set the entire thing up. I don’t know if I buy it entirely, as there was no way to know that Michaela would show up and the hand she’d have in the murder. But Annalise could have easily known Wes would tell Rebecca, Rebecca would do something stupid, Sam would retaliate in kind, because we all know his propensity for outbursts and violence, which would then prompt Wes saving the day and Annalise having to tell him exactly how to cover the entire thing up.
So suffice it to say that my mind is sufficiently blown and I have way more thoughts, theories, observations, questions etc then I can properly convey at this time.
But please, tell me yours!
