omg, definitely please do. especially to support asian americans in the media---i’ve sat through FAR worse shows.

plus i’m only on the 4th episode so things could get better. i think this show is in desperate need of asian writers and directors. it doesn’t look like they made any effort from last season.

Are you watching the new season of Marco Polo? I'm so excited to hear your thoughts about it. And everyone is so gorgeous in this new season? Remy, Mahesh, Uli, Rick (I never thought that I would like Kaidu as I did in this season.)

yes i am!

i’m on episode 4 right now. i’m having mixed feelings, honestly. there are things that i LIKE—i am soooooooo in love with prince jingim, it’s not even funny. i think the unwanted rivalry that’s grown between the brothers is pretty well written. remy, mahesh, uli, and rick will be the death of me. SO fucking beautiful.

i think the dialogue is shitty. the way everyone speaks is so awkward and forced sometimes, it’s annoying. 

i don’t like chabi and the blue princess’ storyline. it has this “treachery of women” vibe that i’m just not feeling. if more time was spent examining chabi’s decisions (especially where inheritance is affairs of state are concerned) it would feel less like that for me. so far it just feels like the writers have chabi pop in just to say some shit and pop out again. like why aren’t we following HER feelings about kublai’s behavior?  and this whole bastard baby storyline is just… i can’t see chabi dropping a bomb like that on someone she regards as family just because “heirs” and shit. she doesn’t feel like the same character i revered in season 1. same with the blue princess. she feels…off. like not a real person with thoughts and feelings. 

also i dont want her past relationship with marco to become this THING between her and jingim (a) because they’re cute (b) because fuck that boring ass narrative we’ve seen it all before © no more white men being the more viable option to an asian love interest pls and thnx.

khutulu (sp?) and her man (whose name i cant remember rn) i want more of them interacting as well. they’re great! i think the tension between them should be explored further, there were some missed opportunities by the writers IMO.

ok ok so i’m finding more things i dislike instead of like but i think that’s ok. 

marco being pushed off to the side a bit is definitely a huge improvement. opens it up for other characters to have a narrative they deserve.

yes i am totally on that train. i’ve met some great people these past few months because this year i’ve just committed myself lol. this is the longest i’ve EVER stayed on a new years resolution LMAO.

there was this girl that worked in the office next to mine for almost a year. and everyone thought she was so cool but never really spoke to her. 

so i was like fuck that noise, asked her out to lunch, and now me and her are actually good friends. 10/10 beneficial because she works in fashion and i’ve been getting the hook-up from free clothes to launch parties and potential collabs with various artists all because i took the initiative.

it’s to the point now where my coworkers are actually envious of the fact that me and this girl are friends. she was right next door for OVER A YEAR with all these admirers and not a single one of them spoke to her. and true story this girl literally just left the office next to mine to work for a bigger designer and i was the only one who knew because i’m the only one she talks to, lol.

i’m just sayin’ tho.

I agree #thisislucreziasand. and so far of the important dark women in the cast, one (a child) has no lines and the other is dead… *sigh* I’ll whip up some meta.

i had a whole conversation about this with @melinapendulum and we were both on the same page about it but it’s always good to hear more affirmation.

i mean, i can’t REALLY judge since i haven’t seen the show yet but i think fandom should consider the lack of and treatment of dark skin women a serious problem.

doesnt mean we can’t enjoy the show, of course, but i’d love to see/read more discussion about this. so def tag me in your meta, pls!

what exactly is french tian? google is giving me a bunch of different options like vegetable tian, ratatouille tian, provencal tian, zucchini french tian.

stuffed tomato! u r testing my dislike of vegetables which i’ve been trying to overcome anyway. the recipes for this look awesome.

Both eps of S2 have been solid on IZ. It was short enough for me to get through it Monday watch the S2 premier on Hulu Tuesday and then watch ep 2 live. I loved Veronica Mars so a Rob Thomas so will usually get a look but your rec bumped it up. Thank

oh yeah S2 of IZ has been pretty great so far. they didn’t just completely dropped threads from S1, they’re definitely building on the story and they’re doing it well. i’m worried about what they’re going to do with major only because he’s increasingly heading in a pretty destructive direction that i’m not sure the show can really handle (especially in tone) plus i miss his comedic side even tho he’s always had an edge to him. 

i dont have cable so it’s hulu all this fall tv season for me.
