“I sell tofu, not predictions.”
Even the narrator gets his buzz killed by Bunta. Lol!!
Takumi was fully prepared for the buzzkill right from the start, expecting that his dad wouldn’t let him use the car or that he would have a meeting to attend. But Bunta, a veteran of the buzzkill, remains quiet about the meeting, sneakily building up Takumi’s buzz by telling him to take the car before killing it swiftly once again! Lol! Takumi is, as the usual phrase goes, 100 years too early to be dealing with Buzzkill Bunta!
“I don’t know how it happened, but as long as you bump the car, you’re still a beginner. I wouldn’t have bumped it once.”
Buzzkill Bunta just letting his son know that he’s got him beat when it comes to skill and technique. But for all his buzzkill, he really is pleased to hear that Takumi won his race - even if it was at the expense of a few scratches on the 86.
“What’s wrong with you? You’re still too young to forget things.”
I can’t... LOL!!! I’m killed! Takumi is next-levelling with this memory loss here. Good thing his dad is around to knock some sense into him - figuratively and literally! And he also adds a little buzzkill at the end for some good measure too.
“Technique isn’t something that can be taught.”
Wanted some tips on how to improve on the downhill? Much as he hates to kill your buzz, Bunta’s got nothing for you..
“I don’t care if you’re out at night, but I’ll drag you out of bed if you don’t wake up in the morning.”
About to go out and have fun with your friends? Ready to throw caution to the wind, let loose and have a good time? Don’t forget that there’s work in the morning. And if you do forget, Buzzkill Bunta will let you know!
Lol! We know that Bunta has confidence in his son’s driving skills, but you really wouldn’t think so, based on some of the things he says. Trust Bunta though… even when Takumi isn’t around, the buzz (and any hope) will be killed in the usual no-holds-barred fashion…
