A bad summary of what Between the Veil and Crown is about:

A prince discovers he has issues with his dad and a Ranger pretends he doesn't have trauma, and the two of them are connected because the Ranger's sister kidnapped the prince's brother by accident.

Regrets? That gave Alex pause for THOUGHT. She honestly tried not to DWELL on the past. She was blunt, honest -- HERSELF. And when she apologized she either truly regretted NOTHING (see: 99% of the times she’d ever apologized to her family). OR she’d made genuine efforts to MEAN IT. She supposed her biggest regret was more of a WHAT IF. And OF COURSE it was tied to Helena. And more importantly LAS VEGAS. How would their lives have been DIFFERENT had she followed her? Ultimately it didn’t MATTER. They had both made their choices. They’d both UNDERSTOOD and they’d both now FORGIVEN each other. And here they stood -- STRONGER & MORE COMMITTED THAN EVER. But still... What if she’d went? What if she’d been there? Would they have SURVIVED? Would Helena have MARRIED HER instead? Or would she have just been stranded out in the COLD waiting for her WITHDRAWAL-RIDDEN MISTRESS to get done SERVICING SOMEONE for another HIT of cocaine and meth? That last question made her VOMIT. She never liked to think of Helena’s demeanor during THOSE DAYS. She must have HATED HERSELF. And not in the kind of ways she ALWAYS hated herself. But then maybe Alex could have made the DIFFERENCE. Stopped her from falling so LOW. After all. Every time Helena had ever started to SPIRAL in Alex’s presence. Alex HAD been able to catch her. Marshmallows. The bar. That fucking slumber party. Their EMOTIONAL CHEMISTRY had gotten BOTH GIRLS (and Harper) (...and Sera) (...and DELILAH) through them ALIVE. If only BARELY. Maybe they could have worked those SAME MIRACLES in Vegas. So yeah... THAT would be her biggest REGRET. Her biggest QUESTION. Should she have followed HER GIRL to Vegas? Would it have been for BETTER or for WORSE? And where would the duo stand TODAY? Questions she’d NEVER get answered.

Between the Veil and Crown

Arvek is the Crown Prince of Harlofelp, a kingdom with few worries and threats.  However, after his brother Selim is kidnapped by a healer living in the Veil Villages, Arvek is confronted with the cost of his father’s reign.  Just trying to get his brother back, he finds himself challenged with the question of continuing ignoring problems as his father, or defying his father’s expectations.

Kylin is a Ranger of the Veil Forest, sworn to maintain balance between nature and civilization- an oath made difficult by the Harlofelp soldiers in the Veil Villages.  Normalcy unravels as things hidden in the dark of the forest come to light and the seal on an ancient evil erodes.

Between the Veil and Crown 2 The story was getting really long, and had yet to reach its conclusion.  The first part came to a natural breaking point, and I had realized that there were many changes, and a lot more things that were thought through, as the story progressed. (Not surprising, I suppose, with a rough draft.) Part 2 is a continuation of the same story, but introduces itself kind of like a new book.  So it may come off as a little jarring, or clash with previously established facts.  Please understand it is just the author developing things as it comes.  The following links are chapters of Part 2.
