Has your celebrity ever put a part of their life on hold? If so, what was it and why? Having a family - she has always been extremely focused on her career and while having children terrifies her on one hand, she has only recently started to consider what it might be like to have her own.
How has your celebrity’s upbringing and childhood shaped who they are as a person in the present? Being raised by a single mom and a mostly absentee father, Brie’s upbringing has simultaneously made her fiercely independent but equally dependent on her mother and sister. The trio was extraordinarily tight and, aside from Joe, they are still the first people she wants to share news with - good or bad.
What is your celebrity’s biggest “what if”? Is there something that they would choose to do over? Not so much a ‘why if’ but a ‘what the hell was I thinking’ - if she could go back in time she would have fought harder to maintain her relationship with Joe instead of letting the distance scare her off.
What does your celebrity consider to be the most ‘life defining moment’ that they’ve experienced so far? So far, probably her Oscar win. It changed the trajectory of her career in a pretty substantiative way and as a result, many of her long-term plans had to be reconsidered.
What’s something that your celebrity has done that is completely out of character for them? Probably skydiving on a previous town trip. Not that she doesn’t like adventure, she just doesn’t usually opt for the death-defying kind. She has no regrets though and would do it again if the opportunity presented itself.
Whether it be a friend they lost touch with, co-star they no longer see, someone they lost, family back home… who does your celebrity miss? Her sister - not that they don’t keep in constant contact via text message and FaceTime, but it’s not the same as being nearby. Given that they had a working, single mother, the two are extremely close and being on the other side of the country can be difficult.
Has your celebrity ever experienced something such as a health scare, accident, or major shake-up? No major health scares or accidents (knock on wood) but she has had more than one major shake-up. Personally, her dad leaving when she was a child definitely helped shape who she is, her past engagement to her ex, and the temporary break-up with Joe are all major losses (or near losses) that have impacted her in a big way. Professionally, when she initially didn’t get the role as Kate in United States of Tara, she nearly gave up acting all together. Winning her Oscar and getting the Captain Marvel role have, and continue to, impact her world.
When your celebrity was younger, did they have an imaginary friend, or were they creative as a child? Not so much an imaginary friend in the human sense but an imaginary pet dog. Her mother wasn’t big on them and she longed for pets and so, creative as she was, she just made one up.
Growing up, what did your celebrity always wish to do with their life? Is it something they would still want to do today? She’s known from a very young age that she wanted to act. In fact, at age six, she was the youngest student admitted to the American Conservatory Theater.
What age does your celebrity wish they could permanently be and why? Right about now seems right, why, do you know someone who can arrange this?
Has your celebrity ever put a part of their life on hold? If so, what was it and why? Not really, but perhaps a little bit - he’s always wanted to produce his own films and now that The Originals is over, he has an opportunity to focus more of his attention on that. He enjoyed it too much to think of it as putting things on hold though.
How has your celebrity’s upbringing and childhood shaped who they are as a person in the present? In just about every way he can imagine. Both his mother and father were huge influences on shaping who he has become, though perhaps mostly his mother. Hence his involvement in Positive Women. Both taught him about compassion and using your voice, and privilege, for good and they are lessons he continues to carry with him today.
What is your celebrity’s biggest “what if”? Is there something that they would choose to do over? His recent divorce, maybe. Although he wouldn’t really change that they were married, just that he wasn’t able to save it before it was too late.
What does your celebrity consider to be the most ‘life defining moment’ that they’ve experienced so far? Getting the role of Klaus obviously changed his life, he was a relative unknown up until that point and very quickly become a recognizable face.
What’s something that your celebrity has done that is completely out of character for them? I don’t think he would say anything has been out of character. He prides himself on taking risks and trying new things, so there is little left outside the realm of possibility.
Whether it be a friend they lost touch with, co-star they no longer see, someone they lost, family back home… who does your celebrity miss? His mum and dad and brother, he’s hoping now that his schedule is a little looser though that he’ll be able to spend more time with them.
Has your celebrity ever experienced something such as a health scare, accident, or major shake-up? The previously mentioned divorce is probably the biggest thing to happen to him in recent memory, though there has been plenty of smaller shake-ups along the way.
When your celebrity was younger, did they have an imaginary friend, or were they creative as a child? He was absolutely creative, but he lived it out through characters and stories he would create and perform for his family.
Growing up, what did your celebrity always wish to do with their life? Is it something they would still want to do today? For as long as he can remember, Joseph has wanted to be involved in film in some way, although his desire to create is just as strong as his desire to act and hopes/plans to focus more of his time in that area in the near future.
What age does your celebrity wish they could permanently be and why? Mid-twenties, if he had his say. You’re a full-fledged adult who has the freedom to make your own decisions and direct the course of your life, but still young enough to get away with making plenty of mistakes.
