When I was in sixth grade, my teacher gave us this assignment to take care of an egg baby (I’ll never understand this since the egg literally doesn’t do a damn thing. I “get” what it’s supposed to be, but anyway). I was doing good with it for the most part. I had a little basket for it. Then one day, when I was walking into my apartment building, I somehow lost my hold on the basket and my egg fell and cracked.

I was hysterical because I thought for sure I’d fail this project and my whole life would be over at eleven years old.

I go upstairs and my mom sees how I upset I am and she inquires about what happened. I tell her and my mom being the ever supportive person she is, goes into the fridge, gets out the egg beaters container, and tells me to bring it into my teacher and tell her my egg baby was reincarnated....and then proceeded to crack up.
