HJR 140 passed in the senate today, meaning that federal mining protections will be stripped from the boundary waters and Twin Metals, an offshoot of a Chilean mining conglomerate Antifogasta, can move forward with mining on the edge of the BWCA.

Copper-sulfide mining has a 100% pollution rate. My state’s people, clean water, and tourism economy rely on stopping this company from destroying this pristine wilderness.

What can you do?

Call DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen and demand that she cancel Twin Metals’ lease: 651-259-5555.
