Here's a screenshot of the OG post but!!! The thing about codywan is that the whole 'clones are basically slaves' situation could either make the ship icky and white saviour-y or awesome and complex, and there's no in-between.

Fics where Cody is just completely devoted to Obi-Wan and has no other personality traits are Not Good because Cody just becomes almost like an accessory to make Obi-Wan look awesome and heroic and uuuuuuh yeah. Not great.

But ooohohoho when a fic gets into the fucked up aspect of it and actually makes an effort to have the ship feel realistic and two-sided? When it leans into the actual plot issues instead of ignoring them and has conflict and mistakes and stuff and Obi-Wan and Cody actually have to deal with that whole situation?? GOOD FUCKING FOOD 10/10
