YEAAAAAA SON like as much as we all like to think about thorin going off at the hobbits for selling off bilbo’s things like honestly i love thorin just hanging back, holding onto their chest of silver and gold, unsure what to do as bilbo absolutely goes off on them (and thorin’s utterly besotted now, of course, and they’ve danced around each other and slowly falling for each other since thorin woke up after battle and decided to return to the shire as unsure what they really are to each other but they’re something, and now thorin’s absolutely completely in love)

like some of the hobbits see thorin and are a bit startled to have just noticed the dwarf standing in their presence and eventually the auctioneer asks for proof of bilbo’s identity and that’s finally when thorin steps forward and vouches for him like bilbo did in laketown oh my lord i am Weak™

‘i’m his intended.’

‘intended? since when?’

‘since right now. now excuse us, it’s past tea time and we’d like to get to setting our things back in order’
