I love an episode that is willing to poke fun at the characters. and I love a con!

part of me hates that Arthur doesn't have consistent character growth and seems to forget life lessons he from one episode to the next

from a story perspective, it is frustrating to see him fall back into old ways of thinking after having a humbling moment. like, usually big revelations in a story have weight and change a character for good

another part of me appreciates that often people need to learn the same lesson over and over again for it to really stick

I think if this was done intentionally (instead of poor / inconsistent writing) it could have been an interesting character flaw? less of a continuity error and more of a personal failing
