NCT Dream 'We Boom' Album: First Listen Impression 💚

I've already said my impression on this song on separate posts but this song is a bop. Like it gets better and better everytime I listen to it.

Bye My First...

I actually expected this song to be emotional based on the title but it turns out to be more upbeat but still has that pinch of melancholy in the melody. This is actually the first song I listened to after 'Boom'. Don't get me started with the vocals in this song. I squeal everytime I hear Jisung's voice come in. I'm literally overflowing with feels already but when I heard Jaemin say 'My First & Last', my feels just spilled over the edge.

Stronger

This song just lives up to its title. It went Stronger! The synthetic and electronic sound along with Dreamies voices came out so good. And I can't really help but notice Jeno using his deep hoarse voice as the base for the chorus. Let me just @ Jaemin's falsetto in the first verse and Haechan's rap part. Man, it almost felt like a 'Stomp The Yard' song.

Dream Run

I also expected this song to be emotional. Maybe I expected it to be something like 'Dear Dream'. But just like 'Bye My First...' it's also upbeat and happy. It actually gave me some nostalgia. It sounded something like one of SJ's song, something like a 2nd Gen KPop song because of its vibe. I also heard Chewing Gum & Majimak Chot Sarang in the first verse of the song. And then there goes Haechan's high note.

The transition from Haechan's high pitched voice to Jisung's deeper than the see voice in the first verse is like hot & cold, heaven & hell. And everytime I hear Jisung say, 'I like it like that', it kinda hurts but like the good kind of hurt. And can we please talk about Jeno's whisper rap? It's giving me some BDS vibe that I actually needed from him ever since Ten mentioned a NoMin Ver. of BDS. I'm totally jamming to this song. I mean, the beat is sick and it's a bop!

Best Friend

RenLe's pefrect harmony alongside NoMin/Sung's rap chant in the chorus sounded so good.

Overall, I love RenLe's harmony in this album. They made each song feel like I'm in mid-air listening to their vocals. I also love how I'm able to hear Jeno singing. That's so important to me. And his singing voice is so good. It's as good as his rapping. Jaemin's rap style in the whole album is really something to talk about 'coz it's iconic. He did well in this comeback. I mean, he always did. Oh, Jisung's vocals. This kid really amazes me every freakin' comeback. I cannot not mention RenHyuck's high notes in this comeback. It has to be the most iconic thing especially their duet high note in 'Boom'. It's also refreshing to hear Haechan rap 'coz I'm not sure if I've heard him rap before.

Now, it's time to scrutinize the lyrics of the songs in the album especially the ones that NoMinSung wrote. ☺😊💚

Have you guys ever tried listening to My First & Last, DNYL, & Bye My First... one after the other? I've never tried but I feel like it's gonna be a roller coaster of conflicted feelings but nevertheless, iconic. 👌💚
