Cleradin: obviously the og ship for this idea, married husbands completely confident in their relationship to each other, magic powers and sword skills that make their respective partners alternates swoon, deffidently the most competent and take Mike and Will not being together like a personal offense
Sharknilla: devastated that theres no WiFi or cell cervice in the 80’s, should probably unpack that every other version of them is dating but are refusing too, looking at you modern!mike. The comedy of these two is they’re constantly making references to stuff that hasn’t happened yet, mention gay marriage being legal for them in the future to spread joy, constantly arguing playfully with one another but also enjoying more time with each other bc they live long distance, treating this like a vacation
Lesbyler: the most familiar with the 80s environment but NAWT happy about hanging around with a bunch of guys even if they are themselves. Lowkey were making out for months before getting together which ranges from ‘oh shit’ to ‘blasphemy’ in reactions when told. The least stressed because James (their El) will probably find them soon, probably able to hang out with the normal party.
Hellcali: Mike and El never got back together, got together over spring break (no Vecna) and so fucking annoying about it. Like sharknilla is long distance but they can text each other whenever, Mike and Will are wandering around Hawkins like normal, stressed tf out bc they know Will’s mom might be freaking out but also lowkey smiling. Have the worst PDA out of everyone, Hell!Mike exposed Normal Mike for Lettergate literally ten second in and it made things awkward but he dgaf, annoying teenagers
Seven spins: the eye candy of the group bc omfg athletes in their prime, kinda have a love-situationship going on (its giving heated rivalry) where they’ve fucked more than they’ve had deep conversations with one another, which is really hard because they don’t know how to communicate in a low-stakes environment and the while sci-fi thing is going over their heads a little bit ‘WTF do you mean Jane has powers? My sister???’ Pissed Hawkins doesn’t have an ice skating rink
Spiderwill x MJ Mike: numb to it at this point, assume this is a scheme by Will’s villain of the week and move on. Dustin and Lucas think spidey will is the coolest shit ever and never let Mike hear the end of it. MJ is lowkey interrogating everyone about their realities or bragging about bagging a superhero and how cool his Will is. Will has to be convinced that NY will be fine without him and he can take breaks. Unproblematic
Old Byler: TO OLD to be dealing with this shit, very patient having to parent a bunch of their younger selves, nostalgia tripping the whole time, constant victims of old jokes, first people to make normal will cry, have a daughter who’s now in college, had punk and goth phases in college, queer culture distributors, ‘be safe guys, I’m serious’, lowkey nerding out over Cleradin
Regency Byler: TRIPPING BALLS about being ‘commoners’ in a relationship not comprised of elaborate poetry, letters and brushed hands. Literally Cleradin will be making out on the couch and they refuse to touch each other. Get told by older mike to ‘just fuck already’, the modern day is really not good for them but also really good for them. Nila keeps showing them memes they don’t understand. Cleradin are the only ones who don’t think they’re speaking funny, end up dry humping in a closet somewhere
Miwi: preseason one litterally having the best time ever. Joy in their hearts and souls, first people to make normal mike cry, kinda have to be taken care of by older byler because nobody else is really that good with kids. Sharknilla and sevenspins don’t really get it bc theyre not childhood bffs but the kids grow on them. Think cleradin are the coolest people ever.
