Because You Loved Me - excerpt
No idea when I’m actually writing this, but enjoy the excerpts.
There was an odd sense of guilt that prevented Jaime Lannister from sleeping. The idea that he could have done more, sooner, nagged at him. Nothing made sense right now. His body ached with exhaustion, but that was because he and Brienne spent the day in the sun and the last few hours rolling around in the sheets. What the guilt was, he couldn’t name, not really.
He had spent who knows how long moving around their hotel room. He laid with her, his arm bent so his fingers touched the smooth skin of her back. He rolled on his side so he could share the pillow her head rested on. He sat up in bed, watching the dark sky and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. He sat now, in a chair, watching Brienne sleep, listening to the nagging guilt as it crashed in his mind like the waves below him.
