Kinda wanna make canon that Byron, Adelia, and Piers all met over having to complete what basically would be a DnD campaign's worth of adventures/quests. They were all wandering mercenaries at that time who may or may not have started out relatively young-ish.

Adelia, who is alive in the Pokémon AU by the way, is a Ground-type trainer. One of her signature Pokémon is a Rhyperior she got after trading Byron an Electabuzz when they got married. It goes without saying that Byron's Electavire is that same Electabuzz, and is likewise a signature of his as well.

Been having thoughts about changing up Byron and Rowena’s story, since as it turns out, things in my current timeline don’t line up with canon events. For instance, Rowena’s birth year. Using 280 AIE as a benchmark, subtract Ren’s age of 24, and you get 256. Rowena had Ren at around 29, as I have Rowena at 30 when she dies, and Ren is a year old during the Dawnsmarr Incident. Subtract 256 by 29, and Rowena’s birth year is 227 AIE. 

Now, Akras was officially formed in 238 AIE. Rowena would be 11 at this time, meaning it would not make sense for Byron to have joined Akras before Rowena was born, as I had initially established. So, here’s what I’m gonna do instead: 

Byron, Piers, and maybe Adelia are a group of fighters-for-hire who at some point in their lives decide to settle down a bit more and stick to taking jobs within a certain radius of the town they settle in. Byron and Adelia eventually have Rowena, though I think I may still have Adelia still die in the process. After that, Byron and Piers continue to take jobs to support themselves while raising Rowena. Rowena spends her childhood both learning the sword and learning from books, advancing at a quicker pace than normal children. After quite a bit of debate, Byron and Piers start taking Rowena on jobs.

Word about the formation of Akras eventually reaches their ears. Byron and Piers decide to join up. With Rowena in tow, they make their way towards the Imperial Capital. They make names for themselves while in Akras and explore Grand Gaia alongside Owen, Grahdens, and whoever else they would’ve recruited, such as the other Instructor OCs I made, and eventually gain the Summoning ability. Byron eventually becomes Griff’s lieutenant like in my original plot. While Rowena does show a lot of promise as a fighter, she isn’t allowed to officially join until she reaches a certain age (probably 15-16). Soon after she does join, she is quickly regarded as a genius, and gains the ability to Summoner as well.

Byron does still die, but I will push his death back a few more years so that it’s still between Rowena joining Akras and her becoming a captain. Piers sends her to living quarters for Summoners, as he finds himself mentally unable to still care for her. Though they eventually stop being in frequent contact, by this time, Rowena’s already made some new friends her age in Akras to support her: A group of young Summoners who would eventually become part of the BF0 Group.

1. Rex is surprisingly studious when it comes to something he's interested in. It's just that wisdom does not always equal intelligence with him. Like, he borrowed way too many books than he could carry from the library after finding out about Ren, but he also sat down and filled out a whole notebook on baby-related things.

2. Byron, Adelia, and Piers started out as housemates. Byron and Piers wanted to join Akras, and Adelia got another job somewhere in the capital city. They all decided to live together to cut expenses.
