Memories of spring mornings.

Wanting to try some 산낙지 (sannakji, live octopus), we headed to the Noryangjin Fish Market one evening. Before we knew it, we had three octopuses, a bag of prawns and a live flounder to be shared between the four of us. The shopkeeper led us to a huge restaurant in the back alley where we had our meal. The 산낙지 was a first for all of us, the grilled prawns were extremely sweet, and the fish was cooked to perfection in a hot pot.

Good company, good food and some soju are the perfect recipe to warm up an unforgettable, cold evening.

The sky was threatening this afternoon and we sought shelter in a traditional tea house, waiting for the rain to come. We ordered a Korean brew - 雨前, meaning ‘before rain’. We had some sweets and heartfelt conversations whilst gazing out at the view of the streets and the mountains before us.

In the horizon, the palace walls lined with cherry blossoms greeted delighted passers by.
