“Max? Where have you been?” 99 exclaimed.
Siegfried stalked angrily into the classroom, removing his book bag with more force than was necessary as he set it next to one of the desks. So far he could say with honesty that he wished they’d never moved here. So the state of his home country was a bit.... undesirable at the moment. This school definitely wasn’t somewhere he wanted to be.
People gave him distrustful looks due to his accent, but at least they knew better than to bother him. Shtarker wasn’t as lucky. He was smaller than him, less intimidating; it made him an easier target. Siegfried frowned, running a hand through his blonde hair as he settled himself in the desk. Shtarker didn’t deserve any of it, he’d already been through enough.
His gaze flickered up to the clock. This was sure to be tedious.
If there’s a thread in particular we had going you want me to continue let me know so I can pick it back up. Cause while I think I have them all in my drafts I’m not sure and I probably will end up letting some trail off.
"99, I didn't mean it the way it sounded. I'm sorry."
“I think you did, Max,” she sorrowfully breathed. Her shoulders deflated and lowered as if they had been propped up on balloons that had just been deprived of air by way of a sharp tack. If only his remark hadn’t cut so deep and she could ignore the pain it brought.
While 99 wasn’t one to hold grudges, something truly bothered her about what he said. It bothered her so much so, that she struggled to make eye contact with him.
“You made me sound desperate and like I threw myself at my fiance,” she stated. 99 only accepted the other man into her life because she thought Max had no interest in her.
“I’m leaving Control to get married, Max. I thought you’d be happy for me,” the brunette expressed, turning to her bags, which were half packed. Her hand instinctively moved to smooth out wrinkles in the fabric to avoid looking at Max. While he wounded her pride, she could never stop loving him.
