me: you’re publicly opposing the Equality Bill, a bill designed to end legal discrimination against LGBTQ+ people

LDS Church: right, but that’s because that directly impacts our ability to not let trans people go to BYU so we have to stop that

me: what about the public support for Prop 8, the bill in California that banned civil gay marriages? That wouldn’t have affected the church at all, but you raised $22 million dollars to support it

LDS Church: well, that one’s just because we hate gay people

good morning, starshine!

it might be too early or too late for this, but good morning, hello, and happy new year, starshiners!

today is good.  today is great.  today is awesome.  why?  it's the first day of the winter semester here at BYU-H.

and you know what that means.

it means new people, new classes, new books, new events, new adventures.  everything is new, one way or the other!  i mean, don't you feel good when you start out with something new?  you're starting on a clean [spotless and shiny] slate.  a brand new piece of paper.  the year remains an unpainted canvas until you start painting.

it's beautiful!

and i'm so happy!  :D  see?

now i hope all of y'all will have a nice day, and a beautiful new year!  happy wishes and thoughts for all!
