Meet the BroZone bros' parents! Lily Juniper and Pine!
See the design of their union bracelets? They're weaved out of the couple's respective hairs, representing their bond and marriage. Too bad Pine is an unfaithful twat!
I've redesigned my BZdad from this because the BroZone bros gotta have a parent to inherit their skin/fur color from, especially if the skin/fur color occurred five times in a row. I've also changed his name because it didn't feel quite right.
Lily Juniper's design is inspired by @keebsification's BZmom. Specifically from this video and this video.
Oh, and the homewrecker locking tails with Pine is Creek's mom.
UPDATE 07/07/2025: Realized the line still wasn't fixed. Sorry about that. Now it's fixed for realz.
EDIT 10/05/2025: I've changed his design and renamed him.
Everyone, meet Sprig! Father of the year, am I right?
He totally didn't cheat on his wife!
He totally didn't abandon his five sons after his wife got picked for Trollstice, and all while the fifth was still in his egg, to start fresh with the other woman and have a son with her named Creek!
He totally didn't pretend for twenty-four years that family he built with his first wife didn't exist!
What if Clay had bumped into his deadbeat dad and his new family in the middle of the Great Escape?
Just imagine the shock Clay would have upon realizing he was not much better than his own father who abandoned him and his brothers after his mom died.
What if I give Pine no backstory beyond cheating on Lily Juniper with Creek's mom, and his presence and lack thereof in his and Lily Juniper's sons?
After all, I want him to be an unsympathetic jackass: he abandoned his sons from his first marriage after their mom's death for a fresh start with his mistress before Branch hatched, lost his "perfect" son to the bergens, and his surviving sons want nothing to do with him.
That's the question, isn't it, @spookylightblizzard? I'm still working on that and trying to figure out how to make him hateable.
In the meantime, here are notes under the cut.
For those of you who wanna see what my version of BZparents look like, here's a link.
Unfaithful Swine
He cheated on his wife Lily with Creek's mom (whom I'm thinking naming "River Mossbloom" or something).
Lily, being whimsical and lively, optimistic yet down to earth, was a good influence on Pine.
River, being blindly optimistic and averse to anything and everything negative, is a bad influence on Pine.
Shitty Father
He walked out after Lily died and before Branch hatched.
He used to have a close bond with his sons, which started to crumble when he started missing events that were important to their sons and breaking his fatherly promises when he started cheating.
He has been ignoring their existence in favor of River and their son Creek.
He, along with River, raised Creek to always be positive and push away any and all negativity.
When the Great Escape happened, did he change his name? Or did he take advantage of his brethren's collective blind faith that all trolls have good in them and lie about how he lost his previous family to the bergens? Or did he just pretend his sons with Lily didn't exist?
Did he take advantage of the fact that his sons with Lily are missing?
It isn't until Creek's death that Pine wants to reunite with his sons.
If Pine saw them again, he would greet them with open arms as if he didn't walk out on them twenty-four years ago.
He doesn't see the damage he did in walking out on them.
Awful to his unknown fifth son
He looks down on grey trolls. Even believes greyness to be contagious.
When Branch was a kid, Pine felt no compassion for him.
Up until after the events of the first movie, Pine thought him to be a paranoid negative nancy.
When Branch was growing up, Pine, along with River, openly badmouthed him.
Since Branch regained his colors and became the village hero, Pine refuses to acknowledge his mistreatment of Branch, much less apologize.
Nothing here is finalized yet as they are subject to change.
If nothing here makes you mad at Pine or be like "Fuck you, Pine!", then I've failed at my goal for him. Suggestions are welcome.
What if Pine got away with abandoning his sons because a lot of the adults of the teenaged BroZone bros' time defended him and would rather pretend nobody is bad and everything's fine?
What if he got away with it for 20+ years because everyone completely ignored and forgot what he did because they'd rather always be feeling positive?
Meanwhile, Pine brushes off any and all criticism, and just carries on with a smile like he didn't abandon five children, one of whom was still in his egg!
brozone resenting their father for abandoning them, when they themselves abandoned branch who in return resent them, they (brozone) are gonna realize or unless they already know that they are just like their father
Branch's brothers do realize it, and they hate it.
The difference is that they meant to come back at some point:
John Dory likely wanted to make amends.
Bruce wanted to introduce Brandy to his family before he got married.
Floyd was planning on taking guardianship of Branch once Floyd was in a financially stable enough position to do so.
And by the time they did, the Troll Tree was already empty.
I'm currently not sure whether Clay stayed at the Troll Tree or actually left said Tree to find trolls who take him seriously.
