referring back to this post i made: The Circumstances of Resurrection. Dream only needs three things to complete a resurrection. 1) A book, 2) A fire source, and 3) A target. I personally tested out if it is possible to throw the book over the netherite railing into the lava. It is not possible. Which the reason for me saying, Ghostbur only died because c!Sam dropped the lava. This is an assumption, but as far as we know there is one lever Sam pulls to drop/rise the lava. Leading me to believe that there are observers that track that lava and activate/deactivate pistons controlling the netherite blocks. If Sam hadn’t dropped the lava, Dream couldn’t have burned the book.

Adding on to this, Pandora’s Vault’s main cell is the perfect place for resurrection. It is planned out that way. It is equipped with books and lava while all the other cells have neither of these. 

The revival book was missing and we had no idea that Dream had it, until the Final Disc Confrontation in the season 2 finale. Coincidentally, revealing this book is the reason Dream is put in the main cell rather than being killed outright by Tommy.

yo sam’s just trying to do his job as best as he can

he’s lost all of his friends, he doesn’t go to his base anymore, the egg is trying to break him down further and further, and so the only thing left that is stable in his life is the prison. of course he's gonna do whatever he thinks is correct to keep it working. he cares about tommy, his role as warden means that his feelings don’t matter, but he wouldn't let ghostbur out because it could put tommy in danger, he had to make a difficult decision.

 tommy shouldn’t’ve brought ghostbur there, he was doing  what he thought was best by trying to kill dream, but it's 100% tommy's fault for putting ghostbur in that position, not sam’s. 

sam didn’t know that dream wouldn’t kill tommy, all he knows is that he failed tommy once before by letting dream kill him. he was supposed to murder tommy and hunt him down, but he didn’t! because he cares about him! but tommy broke the rules and has to deal with the consequences.

I think one of my more favorite scenes I’m excited on writing for the Con AU is the night that Cala and Dream go to the rave and they’re both overstimulated but are handling it in different directions.

Dream is trying not to spiral and have a panic attack so he’s staying quiet and stiff to avoid touching anyone

And Cala is bouncing off the walls hyper out of her god damn mind because if she stops and processes what’s going on she herself will spiral so she’s distracting herself

And then Sam and Q try and take Dream away but Cala sees them and immediately thinks they’re spot on cosplayers and 1. Compliments them, and 2. Basically forces them to dance with her because she is not letting Dream out of her sight since the second she loses Dream she will have a meltdown.

So literally Sam and Quackity’s first introduction to Cala is them seeing a small woman with and LED mask that looks like Dream’s mask staring up at them, complimenting them, and basically forcing them to dance with her or she will fucking follow wherever Dream goes because Dream is not leaving her side and she wants to have fun in this god damn convention.

So! There is a way for non magic casters to use magic! And not just any magic like— literally any magic class etc that isn’t attuned to a magical item.

It’s a device that Sam made actually! He thought it would be beneficial if that people could use magic without having an arcane focus as well as people who aren’t inept in that field. He is a paladin so he has magic but he can only use it from his class— but with the device he can use magic from *ANY* class, it has a set amount of charges and is very strong.

There is only two so far: one for him and one for Quackity (he is a rogue but not an arcane trickster one- more of a wild card rogue but even then with his race and class it’s not enough magic spells) but he’s prototyping on making more in the future c:

The way it works is very complicated, but the gist is that they use a lot of wild magic and store it in the device, which then shifts the magic to be a certain spell or class!

He had been working on this invention for ten years, right after he found a way to get a constant source of wild magic!

Strangely that source is gone after a prisoner escaped, but hey it could be a coincidence 🤷

But yeah! That’s fun!!
