So, facial scars.
You know how scars work on a face? How they scrunch up and look all nasty when you make facial expressions, like they don't belong there? They stretch and curl the skin, making it quite unpleasant to look at.
After Quackity got the scar, he looked at himself in the mirror every night and could only feel disgust as he contorted his face in all sorts of expressions to find one that didn't make him want to puke. He smiled, frowned, scowled, pouted, sneered, glared, everything.
He didn't find one, so he stopped trying.
His teethy smile is disgusting to look at. That's what he would have said. So he hid it for good. He hates his smile.
...
But I can only imagine how different that smile is through Karl and Sapnap's eyes.
Sapnap paid him a visit once, and in a slip of the tongue, had said that the way the scar hugged his smile was like a dope, unique dimple. "It looks sick, dude. I love it!"
Karl saw it once, and it was an accident. But even though the smile came from that evil man who blew him up in cold blood, he was almost brought to tears. Every wrinkle around the scar connecting it to Quackity's lips, the glistening golden tooth, and Quackity's laugh echoing through, unsuspecting of prying eyes. It was perfect.
But he doesn't know. And he probably never will.
