ALRIGHT I DID IT and just in time too.
I decided to change the prompt I was doing since the idea I had originally was a bit large in scope but I might write it some other time and post it later.
Anyways here ya go! :DDDDD
Prompt: Holiday Decorating
It’s almost Christmas and Dream hasn’t set up any decorations.
He should get up and start hanging up some lights but, even just thinking about doing something other than lying down in bed is costing energy.
Nobody tells you that once you become an adult it is much harder to be enthusiastic for Christmas.
Dream wishes he can go back to a time when things were simpler.
But before Dream could decide about wether or not he should get up and at least try to decorate his home to lift his spirits, he gets a phone call from Quackity.
“Hey man! Do you mind if I come over to your apartment?” Quackity asks.
Dream who has always had a hard time saying no agrees.
“Great! Cya soon!” It was only then that Dream realized that he would have to try and clean his apartment before Q showed up.
Dream managed to get his apartment to look passable as long as someone didn’t look too hard.
Dream regrets saying yes, he wishes he told Quackity that he couldn’t come over, but it was way too late for that now.
Dream hears a little ding, seems like Quackity has made it too his home. Dream opens the door and lets Quackity inside.
“Heyyyyyyy Dream! how’ve you been?” Quackity pulls off his shoes and proceeds to walk inside.
Dream smiles and closes the door, “I’ve been great.” He says, like a liar.
“Are you planning to decorate for Christmas?” Quackity seemed to notice the lack of decorations in Dream’s apartment.
“I planned too but things keep coming up.” Dream knows that it isn’t true he had plenty of time he was just struggling to find the motivation to get started.
“If you want I can help!” Quackity seemed really eager to help, who was Dream to deny him?
He just hoped that he wouldn’t regret this later.
“WHA- HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO WRAP YOURSELF IN TAPE?!” Dream had left Quackity alone for FIVE MINUTES and came back to finding Quackity wrapped in his own personal hell.
“FORGET ABOUT THE TAP DREAM AND JUST HELP ME!” Dream elected to laugh at Quackity's predicament instead before helping him.
“HAHAHAHA HOW DOES SOMEONE EVEN MANAGE TO DO THAT?!” Dream doesn’t regret letting Quackity help him one bit.
“HELP ME!” Dream kept on laughing, and Quackity started to curse out Dream in both English and Spanish.
Dream finally got out of his laughing fit and helped Quackity get out of his sticky prison.
“FINALLY!” Quackity exclaimed.
“Aren’t you going to thank me for helping you?” Dream giggled still recovering from the earlier scene.
“FUCK NO! Not after you left me time ALL ALONE to defend myself from that EVIL thing!” Quackity was purposefully being dramatic for funsies.
“Haha! I’m sorry but it was kind of funny and cute to watch you fight for your life.”
“Wait, you think I’m cute?” Quackity had this look in his eye that seemed a little desperate.
“Uhhhh sure! You are cute.” Dream did honestly find Quackity attractive but he didn’t want him to know that… just yet.
He isn’t ready for that conversation.
“O-oh thanks.” Quackity is blushing a little, if you were to ask him about that later he would have blamed it on the weather being cold, despite being in a temperature controlled apartment.
They both shuffle around awkwardly till Dream decides to change the subject.
“I-I think we should put the ornaments on the tree now..! Don’t you think?” Dream laughs awkward and points to the tree hoping the change of subject wasn’t THAT awkward.
“Y-yeah sure!” Quackity reached for the box that held all the ornaments at the exact time when Dream was doing that. Their hands brush and they both pull away like a snake tried to bite them.
They don’t talk about it and just awkwardly grab the ornaments and start placing it on the tree.
Once the decorations were done Quackity volunteered to help with the baking.
Dream had to admit that it was a lot of fun hanging out with Quackity and just doing stuff. Whether it was decorating for the holidays or just enjoying each other's company over a cup of tea. (Dream HATES coffee.)
He could get used to this, maybe for the rest of his life.
Once the goodies were baked it was time to decorate the ginger bread cookies with icing.
They talked for awhile, and laughed at their silly designs.
Dream messed up and made a weird blob looking thing, while Quackity somehow made a duck.
But did it really matter what they looked like if they tasted good?
Dream and Quackity were very proud of the taste of their ginger bread cookies.
Quackity eventually left claiming that he had to get home before it got too dark to see, and Dream was tempted to invite Quackity to stay the night but he hesitated and decided maybe next time.
Quackity looked a little sad, but put a smile on his face and left.
Today was a good day Dream decided.
Admittedly I’m not great at writing but I’m hoping to improve as I write more.
I hope somewhere out there someone enjoyed it! :3
