Ever since she was tiny, she had adored books - there was a certain comfort in them, a certain smell that the older ones especially had. Camellia would often make her way to the Library in the back of the Rookery, but venturing out to one of the many branches of the New York Public Library was never a bad thing, especially not on a day as delightfully beautiful as this one was. Cotilan was coming up, and although she was fairly eager to play her part at the event -
so much could be learned there, after all -
she also felt a need to get out of her home, at least for the afternoon.
Camellia had elected to walk over to the library, enjoying the gentle breeze and buzz of the city, and the coolness of the library that practically seemed to envelop her as she entered the building. She was not set on finding any particular book at the moment, and instead perused a few shelves marked with ‘New Books’ until she found herself paging through a copy of Circe - one that she had read about in the New York Times Book Review to high acclaim. After a few moments of reading, she looked up and noticed a figure who appeared at least somewhat familiar - neither Seelie nor Unseelie, certainly, as he had no ring on his hands - but there were humans who lived in her building, humans who she’d passed at the Philharmonic, and certainly far more. Adjusting herself as she stood up, Camellia moved towards the boy (man? She was never entirely certain when to switch up the names) and cleared her throat.
“What are you reading?” She asked, voice gentle. “Pardon the curiosity, but I have found myself in a slight slump, and do not wish to be, especially with summer fast approaching.”
