Day 2: Basics and Cosmetics

How do they usually dress? What do they wear to sleep? Do they wear jewelry?

Arabella is fond of playing dress-up, having watched and read all kinds of films and books, growing up. When she's at the Muggle firm, she dresses smartly, though her clothes are rather reminiscent of the '30s. 

When she sleeps, she wears a nightgown and a pair of warm, fuzzy socks. (There is no one there to see her, anyway.)

She wears no jewelry unless she's at home, for fear that it'll draw attention to her. In her younger days, she used to have two pairs of earrings on, but her workplace didn't allow them.

Is there anything about their appearance they wish they could change?

Arabella wanted to be taller, when she was younger, but she figures that her height gives her an advantage: people think she's harmless. What could a tiny, nondescript woman do to anyone? It's a good weapon.

How would they look as the opposite sex?

Arabella would look like a tiny, effeminate man. She's tried to crossdress, once or twice, as a form of disguise; she thinks she succeeds in looking like a poor orphan boy. 

What do they smell like? Why (do they wear the scent or does it occur naturally)?

Arabella uses a cucumber-scented lotion and she smells like it. She uses it because it doesn't smell like home; home was jasmine and sandalwood and lavender. It's not the hospital, either: bleach and blood and bland fruits. 

Do they have an accurate mental picture of their appearance (how they see themselves versus how the world sees them)?

As a Squib, she never really paid attention to her appearance. Her insecurities and self-hatred did not stem from her body or her face. Arabella rarely thinks about how she looks, though she does take care of herself.
