“I said I’ll get upstairs for bed later. Exams are over, don’t worry.” Marlene waited for the last of the footsteps to fade away as the rest of the girl’s took to their dorm. She’d rather not think more on Lily’s disappointed face if she were to see the real state of herself. But she sat in silence, looking at the fireplace. She wanted to know everything and now all she wanted to do was scream and cause more damage. Merlin knew it would be a relief at this point. @hvwliing

“I lost my last quill.” Peter felt around for his wand, hoping to something the thing if it was laying around the room. “Ink’ll get everywhere, yeah.” @hvwliing​

“Another living soul.” Charity remarked in the darkened Great Hall. There was something peaceful about the empty vastness where she sat with her own tea. She was pleased to see someone who was not so seemingly under the influence or seeking a spot to snog. “You’ll have to humor me as to why you are here and not in that...festitivity.”

“Stay away from the staircases mate, yeah?” His feet scuffled along. Peter knew to pace himself...for tomorrow. But every corner so far had coated him with embarrassment so that he wanted to just faint. “And maybe you should sit down too yeah. Did Sirius give you a leaf thing?” @hvwliing​

“Queen Gwennie-girl isn’t here, take a number and wait.” Marlene swirled herself around in her sister’s chair in the tiniest little office. As long as the eldest McKinnon was in a meeting, and she was supposed to be ‘learning’ the work, then the office was hers for mitching off. “Hello, dwt. I’ve missed you terribly.” Tone changed at Remus’ surprised face, kicking her feet to the desk and perking herself up at last to say: “What’re you doing here? Figured its all much too boring for you to be wandering about here. If you tell me you’re interested in DIMC, I may have to disown you darling.” @hvwliing​

“If you don’t tell me why you are sitting alone in this corner, I will assume you are a tragically lonely boy and have no choice but to sit right here and enforce you’ve got company.” Marlene had already planted herself down, legs across the boys own with expecting grin, eyes following in suit. “Or do I have to drag you out there and see to it that you talk to people?” @hvwliing​

“Moony, I know it’s warmer out now....” Tints of disbelief coated Peter’s voice as his eyes searched up and down the other. “You look like you’re sweating...a lot. You don’t have a fever do you? I mean it....it isnt....that time is it?” He shook his head after. “Of course not, I know that.”

Calm. That was not the word to describe her. She had spent the whole damned day looking for him and his friends. She spent the whole day thinking how lucky they were she didn’t try to transfigure them into ants in the middle of class. She had tried her hardest to not continuously evaporate whatever potion they were working on, however that just kept happening. Now there was one of them just sitting in the common room, studying for mock exams no doubt. One would have to do for now. Marlene sat across from him, unblinking and leaning forward ready to pounce. “You sure seem busy studying. You must be, considering you’re trying to absorb the information for more than one bloody idiot. Did you think that was okay to say her? To suggest to my best friend that she is in debt to a boy? Because- because he threw a few glances her way these past few years. The poor girl should just be so grateful to him for attention?” Her breath drew in deep, and her foot edged on the table between them, energy just waiting to shove it in his direction. “I thought you were smarter than that. How dare you suggest she belongs to him. What universe are you from?”
