I made a little tiled background w/ the dream folks! it was my first time trying this and i’m not fully satisfied tbh, but it came out alright

i’m super glad that Devi’s parents are both exalted because that means that 1) my timeline isn’t super fucked, since Devi is supposed to be a dream demon who’s physical body died centuries ago of old age, and therefore his parents would probably also be dead, and 2) no one has to deal w/ the fact that i made their baby a horrible fucking demon lmao

For the record, if it came to a fight between Devi and Faram, Faram would probably win.

Like yeah, Devi's very old and very powerful, enough so to possess dreamers and reclaim a place in the waking world But Faram is a being who's existed in the dream realm far longer than Devi, and subsists almost exclusively off other reaper demons. Just because Faram is a generally peaceful and passive demon doesn't mean he hasn't earned his place in the dream realm.

Devi is considered an outlier as far as other dream demons go. he’s not the first to attempt- and succeed- at possessing a host and returning to the waking world, but most dream demons don’t aspire to those heights, and are fully satisfied with “living” their existences out in the dream realm. generally, they have all they want or need right there in an incorporeal world that has far fewer law enforcers
