it was possible she had mistaken politeness for any real interest, but amelia had taken to greeting the slytherin in the halls since their run-in. her smile chipper and inviting in hopes of building some sort of bridge for them to speak once again. tired of waiting, however, amelia approached one day after charm’s. her step light and arms crossing over her chest as she came to a stop in front of the blonde. ❝ avalon, do you have a minute ? it’s about--- the lesson. ❞ the lie was very poorly delivered, and she didn’t glance at the peer avalon was with, hopeful that the invitation would be enough to pull her away from the other slytherin. // @pvrknson
“Hey, I’m on a run for work, and I figured I bring you a smoothie and come check up on you,” Fred replied. “We’re trying to get most of the reporters removed so they’re not bothering you and your family right now, but they’re stubborn.”

“How’s Adeline holding up lately?” Fred asked, setting a cup in from of Avalon before sitting across from her at Madam Puddifoot’s. “Is she upset that it’s the Parkinson’s and not your parents?” Fred then made a face. “Okay, that may have came out a little wrong.”

“Oh, um, sorry,” Annie said as she ran into the other girl. “I just, I was actually looking for you. I have these papers from the magizoologist office at the ministry for you.” It had been a while since Annie has seen or spoken to her friend’s older sister. She had definitely always been better than Percy, at least as they got older. “I kind of said I knew you, I was mostly banking on that your looks haven’t changed much since the last time I saw you.”

Christmas 2001
Leviosa, Christmas Toys Fundraiser for Orphaned Children in Gallows Hills
“Quin, hurry along. I still have to get you in your costume. “ Avalon rushed from table to table picking a piece here and there for Quin’s elf costume. Quin kept up easily, beaming a bright smile. Avalon glanced back quickly at the young woman. “Thank you again for volunteering this year. It means a lot.”
Avalon tugged at her stripped green and white stockings. She herself was an elf…again. Ever since she could walk, her parents included her in this yearly event. After they were gone, well, it went away as well, only cause Avalon skipped town, but 1997, after she returned, she brought it back.
She hated the stockings, but she loved helping the kids at the orphanage each year. They each had a wish list that people would fill. The cards, like Angel Tree cards were made available in Leviosa on their Christmas tree every year the week of Thanksgiving. The town loved Black Fridays.
Yes, Leviosa had their Christmas tree up every year at Thanksgiving, just for those cards. It became a tradition.
Two toys, a pair of shoes and some clothes. That was what was included on the card. Also at the bottom, for those who could afford a little extra, was listed the kids hobbies, or things they may need for school or some sport they may play. Not all kids filled this section out. The people of Salem always came through every year.
They were never short of volunteers. Everyone had his or her own part, and this year, Arya had to step out…something about chicken pox. Yeah right. So Quin stepped up to be Santa’s right hand elf. She would bring the kids up to Santa and tell him their names, if he didn’t already know them. Those kids were not from the orphanage, but the children of the families of Salem. Then on the next day, she would go with Santa to the orphanage to deliver the packages to the kids. That was one of Avalon’s favorite things to do. She would be alongside Quin.
Avalon didn’t know Quin very well, but Oliver, this years Santa, recommended her, so Avalon knew she would work out well.
“Thank you for letting me participate. I am really excited. I’ve always wanted to help out, but something always came up. Arya says she loves doing this.”
“Yeah, she’s been doing it since she was like eleven, after she came here to Salem. She’s been a great help. Dad liked her too. Afterwards, I have prepared dinner for you all. So I hope your hungry.”
Quin chuckled, “I am always hungry. Is it okay if I ask my boyfriend to join us? I was suppose to meet him after, and I…”
“Of course.“ She shoved into the girls arms all the pieces she needed. “You can change there, behind that curtain. Let me just find your elf shoes, and then you should be good to go. The make up table is there, with you ears and nose.”
“Ho, ho, ho!!!” Bellowed Oliver who came up behind her, tugging on her elf ears.
“Oliver, I swear…and I promise you will be doing this next year, and the next and from now on.”
Quin started laughing and Oliver scowled at her. “Careful Quin,” he teased.
“You guys are the best for doing this. Thank you.” Avalon kissed both their cheeks and gave them a hug. “Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas.” Oliver replied. “Merry Christmas.” Quin chimed in smiling.
