With one large stuffed animal tucked under his arm and a small one in Aviva’s hands, Tim felt fairly accomplished with their fair day thus far. He had promised the woman a stuffed prize and a stuffed prize she had gotten. He felt like a relaxed day full of games and a busy crowd was just what he had needed to get over some of his awkward nerves involving Aviva to be able to better enjoy their time together. Now; however, after receiving a concerning text from Amelia, Tim was leading the way to the woman’s gallery so that he could help her get her lights back up and talk about her police visit. It was just lucky that Aviva had mentioned the gallery earlier that day and wanting to see the opening display since he was now dragging her along for the ride, his fingers threaded securely through her’s.
“Sorry again for pulling you away from the fair bits, love, but I helped Amelia get everything set up last night and this morning. We thought we had fixed the lights but apparently not.” Tim explained further as he pulled open the door of the now very familiar art gallery, allowing Aviva to precede him in if she wished before following suit. “The displays are amazing though. Amelia did a great job curating them... though, I must admit that I don’t know much about art overall really.” He admitted with a smile and a shrug as he looked around the lobby space. There were more than a few patrons streaming in and out of the main display room, and as Amelia had said, some of the overhead lights began to flicker.
“Damn it, we thought it was just the fuse box but apparently not. Come on, love. Let’s see if we can find Amelia.” Tim suggested, again leading the way since he figured the owner of the gallery was most likely in the back storage area of the building trying her best to fix the lights herself. He knew that Amelia had been wanting the opening to go as smoothly as possible, it was one of the reasons he had stayed up all night helping her, so it was disheartening to see such a big issue occurring.
“Amelia, are you back here?” Tim called out from the door leading into the back, pausing in the threshold.
