VICTORY TOUR -- DISTRICT 10
@birchpembrooke
“An Arabian, right?” Aspen asked Birch as he walked up beside her as she nodded to one of the horses in the field. District Nine didn’t have as many horses as Ten, but they used them to help plow the fields. Oxen were more common, but the richer families used them as a status of wealth and prestige.
Aspen knew she needed to be inside when the ceremonies started, but they had a little bit of time. It was only day three of her Tour and she was feeling worn out. District Twelve had been hard because she had known Dahlia. Now here she was in District Ten and she wasn’t sure she could handle it. All she could think of was Finley and how she had died. Aspen wasn’t sure she could handle seeing her family with out crying.
“I wanted to get my tears out in peace,” she admitted softly still watching the horses. What kind of Victor cried during their Victory Tour? It had been nearly six months and she still didn’t feel like a proper Victor.
