Let’s start with ELECTROPORATION and ELECTRIC EELS
Basically an electric eel has a capability of changing an animal’s DNA by shocking open its cells, which lets genes around the animal’s environment enter its cells and change it (this is real! but also the study was limited)
That’s what the eel was doing to Simon, ‘SHOCKING’ him, allowing the blood to seep into his submarine, which burned and mutated him.
The blood ocean is meant to be the blood of every human who died in the quiet rapture. Sooo Simon becomes infected with the blood of billions of people, plus a god-eel, and THEN. THE TREE ERUPTS.
So Simon is 1:2 himself, 1:6 EVERY HUMAN, 1:6 a monstrous eel, and 1:6 a TREE.
BECAUSE THATS WHAT WAS IN HIS ENVIROMENT THAT COULD ENVADE THE CELLS OF HIS BODY AND MUTATE.
I am a massive fan of that one Tummy-Tongue Simon AU, where he has a mouth on his stomach, literally it’s perfect, no notes
tree-Simon has my heart, give this man wooden bones and green leaves in his hair. He deserves to photosynthesize. It’d be more of a tumor situation though really, realistically— like plant sprouts throughout his body.
Uhmm love Simon’s teeth on his checks, huge fan! I’d like to think the inside of that side of his mouth looks a lot more like eel teeth
I think his appearance would be like, if a half-fish-human creature was invaded by a plant virus
HAVE YOU SEEN THE ‘LAST OF US’??? Imagine the fungus zombies, but only on one half of Simon’s body, and instead of Fungus it’s TREE. And it looks like, Simon was partly mutated by the eel (sharp teeth, gills, Burns from the blood) and the Tree-mutations prevented the Fish mutations (plant growths, moss-like skin, leaves sprouting in his hair)
I have a lot of theories about what his fish mutations and radiation would cause for him neurologically and physically. Ignoring the fact that he’d just die from the radiation, then Simon is definitely gonna rapidly age (experience cell death ealier than normal). I like to give him tremors and a brain-body delay in my fics, he’s got trouble grasping items or letting go of them.
The eridian’s gave him so, soooo much surgery when they first discovered him, luckily they could use the same process of making me-burgers to do skin grafts
