“I will be okay, me and some of my work buddies from the police stations will go out to have a few drinks, to celebrate our friend’s promotion”
"That’s great, have a good night man.”
evelynxmaxwell:
“I suppose I can’t just forget how this conversation started.”
“I guess first impressions do count?”
kalixsparks:
❝ I seriously hate what you do, with passion… I say one word and you want to look into it. Control, yes I like control, everyone does, no one likes to be caught off guard or not prepared for a situation. People like to be ready, I like to be ready for whatever happens, that’s how you survive ❞
“I understand that, but can you accept that living life comes with a certain amount of uncontrollable elements? How do you handle that thought?”
xalizaxryanx:
As the man spoke Aliza could feel some sort of relief that maybe just maybe Arabella’s dad wouldn’t resent her for keeping such a secret and want to have the little girl in her life. She let out a heavy huff and ran her tongue over her lips, “I wouldn’t, but if you were him you’d still be angry at me. Do you think there is a chance to work on that relationship?”
"It would take time.” He said honestly, nodding his head. “But if he’s a good man, he’ll work with you. For his little girl.”
dvmicnx:
❝Yeah?❞ His demeanor is still collect, he only raises a brow. ❝Then it’d be quite a shame if you lost them.❞ Damien flashes a closed mouth smile at him, as he sends his threat.
“Not planning on that anytime soon.” He said back, his easy smile closing up into a steely stare. Nate was familiar with these kind of threats, he hadn’t lived in Salem’s Point his entire life to learn nothing. Yet after all this time, he could still feel the cold courses of adrenaline flowing through him.
gwen-weiss:
“Hold on!” Gwendolyn said incredulously, stepping towards the man. “Are you saying you’ve never read the books? We have to change that right now.”
Eyes quickly scanned the shelves to see if she could find the first.
“The movies are great - but Tolkien is something else. He was the professor of Angelo Saxon at Pembroke College and the way he incorporates his love for languages into his work is fantastic. Oh! He also worked for the Oxford English Dictionary on the history and etymology of Germanic words beginning with the letter W. Fun fact!”
Gwen quickly moved to another isle, heading towards another, not bothering too look if he was following.
His eyebrows raised at her excited response, taking a startled step back as she scanned the shelves. She began to talk and he listened intently, nodding along as they went through the aisles, wondering if he would be able to get a word in. It was refreshing, how much life she had in her. Had to be new in town. “Didn’t know that much about him to be honest. Thought he just did the Lord of the Rings stuff.”
vadaxfarmiga:
Vada looked up at the voice and nodded, “Thank you but I already have my own. It really is a kind gesture, hard to find that here especially when everyone’s on the edge of their seat.” She sighed, “Or trying to decide to open a business in the middle of chaos.”
“What business? Maybe I could offer some help, I opened up my own practice here a couple years back.”
diazandnights:
“That world would be a great world, but I know that’s not how the world works, and I know that it probably will be very hard for the world to change any time soon”
“Right sure, exactly. Anyway, you should get home. Pretty late, and the world suddenly seems more dangerous.”
natxmercer:
“Then you should learn to shut your yap. Because I am a blonde and pretty girl like half of this town.”
“Uh--okay. Will do. You’re a Valentine then? Or a Delore?”
He’s always been enthralled with the lives of humans. Simple, humdrum conversations, interactions, and existences. He’s captured by all these thoughts. Don’t they know there’s something more than this? Can they even fathom it? In a town like Salem’s Point, it’s more likely that they do, only distracting themselves with mundane things to avoid the thoughts that their mortal minds cannot handle.
He thinks all of this over as he sits in a coffee shop in the haunted town. As he is people watching, he notices that theirs a pair of eyes set on him. Damien looks back into these orbs, and blinks twice. ❝You have beautiful eyes,❞ he comments to them, his gaze never dropping.
“Uh...” For a quick second Nate couldn’t think of anything to say back to the stranger, but that changed as an easy grin spread over his face. “Thank you. I like ‘em too.”
Her brows were knit together as she looked over the plans she had in front of her. This was change was big but it kept her close to Autumn while she recovered. She had considered quitting the strip club since Devlin left. Not much point in wasting her time with the bimbos anymore. She had her heart set on this for a while now, and now that she looked at the plans and remembered Ava’s words about how she should do it she figured she would.
The shop she was looking at renting had an apartment above it that she would live in with Autumn and now she was just looking over the details of everything. Her eyes going cross at some point as she read over everything. She took a deep breath and pressed her face into her hands. “This is never going to work. What am I thinking?”
“Hey.” Nathaniel said, coming to a short stop in front of the woman. “You want this tea? I was going to bring it back to my office but you seem like you need it more. It’s chamomile. Calming.”
Gwendolyn wandered through the shelves of the bookstore. She’d spent the majority of the day familiarizing herself with the small town of Salem’s Point and it was a bit of a cultural shift for her. The young woman had lived in nothing but large cities for the majority of her life (bar: vacations) and so she was drawn to the smell and feel of the familiar. She roamed the line of books, looking for something old or perhaps something new. Fingers drifted over titles as she happened to make eye contact with the other person sharing an aisle with her. She offered a smile.
“What do you got there? Anything good? I could use a recommendation.”
Well, not really. Gwendolyn had read just about everything between these walls but this was a new town and she was trying to make friends. Besides, who knew, maybe they would surprise her.
“Lord of the Rings. Figured I’ve seen the movies so many times, better get started on the books.”
natxmercer:
“Keep it moving – I got nothing to talk about. If anything you will have to pay me to talk about whatever you want.”
"I’ll keep my money, thank you. --Have I...why do you look so familiar?”
diazandnights:
“It’s not possible, I know, because we can’t exactly know which ones are actually good and which ones are actually bad, at least not without some kind of proof though, so everyone would have to get a lawyer. I feel like if the court started to use lie detectors, would prevent from the bad guys getting away with it”
“It’s speculation of a world where people actually want to follow the rules. Ain’t gonna happen any time soon kid.”
xalizaxryanx:
“Yes….” she responded, not knowing if that was the right answer or not. “I know she will, she sees other children with their father. But she also knows that she isn’t the only child without one.” She told the male only to let her head hang at the mention of deprive Arabella’s father the chance to be a dad to her. “No, he isn’t. Do you think he would forgive me. If you were him, would you forgive me?”
“If I were him...” He said slowly, wondering how to word it right. Putting himself in the situation was always a bad idea, but she wanted an honest answer, not some bullshit psychotherapist buzzwords. “If I were him I would want to know. And yes, maybe I would be angry, but I think the joy of having a child would outweigh that. I would be appreciative that you didn’t keep the child away from me forever.”
evelynxmaxwell:
“He’s my best friend – my homeless best friend. Everyone should have one. Kidding he’s just my best friend – I mean he is homeless but I don’t like saying that – though I have said it three times here – I apologize. What is up with you? Shrinking out everyone else cause you can’t find a shrink?”
"Am I shrinking you out? I thought we were just talking about Pancho.”
evelynxmaxwell:
“Homeless dude – this tall – tends to limp but only cause he says people will tip more – ya know? Carries a Broncos cap and what not?”
"I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure. You know him well?”
