Jebediah’s mom had persuaded him to book some sort of a fancy dinner and night away with Melody. At first he declined - it just wasn’t Jeb - but after a while of pondering about it, it grew on him. The problem was, of course, Jeb’s idea of fancy consisted of going to a local diner instead of McDonalds and renting a hotel room not too far from his apartment. The latter was more to do with his need to be near his mom at all times, but it was still one of his preferences. Luckily, Jeb thrived off talking to others in the city, and therefore it felt natural approaching a random stranger to ask their opinion. “Hey, this is going to sound weird, but do you have any fancy hotel and restaurant recommendations? Trying to do somethin’ with my girl, but, you know, fancy isn’t exactly my specialty,” Jeb chuckled at the last sentence, nodding at his sweatpants and plain white t-shirt.
