“Shit!.” Spencer mumbled under her breath. “This can’t be fucking happening.” She was talking to herself reading over an email. “That is all the way on the other side of town. No way I will make it.” She grumbled, looking up to find someone standing there. “You know the fastest way to the other side of the city in the middle of traffic?”

Atticus chuckled as he saw Spencer’s reaction. He always found it cute when she was focused and on a mission. “You have your boyfriend drive you.” he suggested, a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. “Do you have everything you need? I have the back ways down, it should be faster No promises you’ll be there on time, but you’ll get there..”

“Stop– Stop,” Walker called after the stranger upon seeing them drop their ID and not notice. Quick to pick it up and see the person in the photo was rather attractive. The boy had been drinking for the last hour, after deciding to leave his hole of an apartment and have a few drinks at a bar. “Excuse me, all-attractive one. You have dropped your identification card.”

Atticus had been out with a few co-workers and was about to leave when he heard someone call after he turned around, seeing that it was Walker. “Hey, man.” he chuckled as the other man spoke, taking his ID from him with a small grin. “Thank you. You’re a life saver.” he chuckled, “How’s your night going?”

Aspen wanted to have a night out. He hadn’t managed to truly explore the city and what it had to offer. After spending the majority of the day wandering, he wound up at a bar. Having met a few fans at it, he decided to have some drinks with them and began to get a little drunk. After having decided to head back to the apartment, someone who looked familiar to him was seated at the bar. He made his way over and put on one of his signature somewhat cocky grins, his eyes tracing over the other and feeling the alcohol in his system more so now than he had before. “Having a good night?”

Atticus had decided to grab some drinks since Spencer had other plans for the night. He was planning on meeting one of his co-workers for one, but they canceled. He had a bourbon before he was about to head out. Taking a swig of his drink as he heard a familiar voice come from the side of him. He set the glass down and his smile quickly grew, “Aspen?” he looked at the other male, almost in disbelief. “What are you doing in Denver?”

“I honestly thought we could manage.” he chuckled, looking over at Atticus. This is what they got for winging it after a long writing and recording session. “Sushi sounds great to me! You read my mind.” he eyed Atticus, giving a small grin to the other, “You have a really nice smile, by the way. I mean, I’m sure I’ve told you that before, but it’s honestly true.” he shrugged, “Sorry, just had to comment on it.” he laughed, walking over and grabbing his jacket, slipping it on and throwing Atticus his. 

“We win some we lose some, man.” he chuckled, “At least the song is sounding epic.” He enjoyed working with Nate, it took some of his free time up but it just felt like hanging out with one of his close friends at this point. “Well, thank you.” he laughed at Nate’s compliment. Feeling his cheeks get slightly flushed as he was caught off guard by it. “You have a really nice smile too. However, I’m sure you get that all the time from your fans.” he chuckled, catching the coat that Nate threw to him and slid it on. “So, how’ve things been going?” he asked, “I feel like we’ve been all work these past few days.”

No matter what the outside world threw at her, she knew being around Atticus would keep her grounded and he would always be her home. Her nose wrinkled when he kissed it. “Then you know I am going to say we stay in. We can order some Thai. I can change into one of your shirts and we can spend time together.” Her lips pressed softly to his. “Ending the day with you is one of my favorites.”

“Sounds like the perfect night.” he smiled, looking down into her eyes. He then returned the kiss softly, keeping her tightly up against him. He was glad Spencer and him were now living with one another. He loved having her around as much as possible and now it’d be a permanent thing. “I love you, Miss Spencer Evans.” he grinned, releasing his hold on her and grabbing his phone, pulling up the menu. “What would you like me to order for you?”

It was nice having a good group of friends around her. It made all of this easier for her. She looked at the food he put on the oven. “Only the top is slightly burned. I could salvage this.” She turned to look at the male. “Unless you would like to go out to eat.”

Atticus chuckled and looked over at her, motioning for her to do her best, “Hell, if you can fix this I’m more than alright with eating here.” he chuckled, looking over at her, curious as to what she would do to improve it. He knew how to cook, but usually if he burnt something he’d automatically not fuss with it and go for something else.

“Well, if you had taken it out when I told you!” she scold him as she handed him the pot holder. “Where do you have in mind?” she asked. 

“Hey! Don’t blame me for this, Ash.” he chuckled, “You could’ve taken it out yourself.” he teased, taking the pot holder from her and grinned, pulling the food out of the oven. He set it on the top and let out a soft sigh. “I mean, at least we didn’t start a fire here. Let’s look at the bright side.” he glanced over at her, tossing the food into the trash and turning the oven off. “I could always go for Italian or Chinese.” he suggested with a shrug, “However, I’m not a picky eater at all if you had something else in mind.”

Watching Atticus take the food out and put in the sink, Toni’s eyes widen from how brunt it really was. It was crazy how bad it was. “Okay awesome, I’ll pay for us. It really has been too long.” She spoke to Atticus. “How are things going for you though? Please tell me your life is more eventful than mine” 

Atticus chuckled and looked over at her, making sure everything was good before heading out. “Oh please, I got it, Toni.” he grinned, “Uhm, things have been good.” he opened up the door for her, grabbing his wallet and phone on their way out. “If you couldn’t tell by all of her things in the apartment, Spencer is moving in.” he fixed his jacket a little and looked at the brunette. “So, it’s been really good.” he chuckled, “Your life hasn’t been eventful recently?” he questioned.

“Okay, you can quit your innocent act with me, matey. You are not fooling me. Or anyone for that matter,” Lydia pointed to her eyes with two fingers, then gestured towards Atticus in an ‘I’m watching you/am keeping an eye on you’ motion, trying to keep a straight face before she broke out into laughter. “Ahh, it feels so good to be right. Victory is mine. Just as it should be,” She said in jest, flashing him a grin. “Okay yeah, that sounds fair. I’m not gonna make you pay for it though. I’d feel bad about it for the rest of the day…  I’m more than happy to pick where we’re going though if you don’t mind. Is there anywhere you don’t want to go, first off? Just so we’re both not disappointed if I pick somewhere?”

“Matey?” he chuckled and shook his head, “I could fool someone if I wanted to.” he had to chime in, just to prove something at least. He held his hands up as she did the gesture and smirked, “You could’ve taken it out whenever you wanted.” he offered, he pressed his lips together for a second and then smiled softly, “No you wouldn’t, free lunch makes anyone feel great the rest of the day. I got it covered, Lyd.” he chuckled softly, “I’m open for anything. I’ve never been one to turn down any kind of food as long as it’s good and I’ll trust your judgement. I mean, if I did before we’d be eating this.”

Elizabeth chuckled. “I told you I was no chef.” She grabbed the potholders handing them to him. “I am already putting in our order at Blue Barn.” 

“I’m not either.” he chuckled, “Perfect. I like the way you think. That sounds better than eating this.” he motioned and took the food out, tossing it and set the pot holder down on the counter.

“I like the way you think.” She wouldn’t protest with his words. Some days she woke up looking over at a sleeping Atti and wonder how she got so lucky. Her arms wrapped loosely around his neck, fingers toying with the hair at the nape of his neck. She loved looking into his eyes. “Part of me wants us to go out, then part of me wants to order in. I don’t feel like sharing you.” She had tons to share with him, but right now, she wanted to be with him. 

“I’d hope you did.” he grinned wide, looking down into her eyes, his thumbs lightly rubbing against her hips. He kept their gaze locked and leaned his forehead lightly against her for a moment before moving back kissing the tip of her nose. “That’s totally your call. Just say the word and we can order whatever you want and hang out.”

Spencer couldn’t help but smirk at Atticus. “I can’t help it, we both have been so busy.” She fixed the shirt she was wearing. She smiled when he kissed her cheek. Her face cringed at the sight of the food. “I shouldn’t distract you that much.” She chuckled. “There is that Thai place a few blocks up. We could go there.”

“I’d rather the food get burnt and get distracted by how incredibly sexy you are, than have it cooked to perfection.” After disposing of the food he put the pot holder down and brought his hands to her hips, pulling her flush up against him and looking down into her eyes. A soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Whatever you want.”

“Gee, where did you ever get that idea from? Was the smell not enough?” Lydia teased, shaking her head at him. “And hey, don’t say we burnt it. You burnt it!” She protested, wagging an accusing finger at him with a smirk as she grabbed the pot holder and passed to him. “If we had just listened to me then none of this would have happened. Therefore, I must say: I told you so.” Lydia nodded her head at the suggestion. “Yeah, lunch sounds like a plan to me. At least we can guarantee they won’t burn the food this time. Unlike someone.”

Atticus chuckled as Lydia was giving it to him for not having listened to her before the food got burnt. He raised up his hands and tried to act innocent. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, Lydia.” he winked and shook his head, chuckling, “I know I know. It’s my fault.” he took the pot holder as he admitted his defeat. Taking the dish out he gave her a playful glare as she mentioned it was his fault once more. He tossed the food and turned off the oven. “I suppose lunch can be on me and you can pick where we’re going, since I was the one who burnt it.” he chuckled, looking over at her. “Sound good?”

“Oh, hey, you were the one that burnt it.” he teased the other, even though he was the one that insisted they left it in longer. He grabbed out a pot holder and handed it to Atticus, a grin spreading across his face as he mentioned going out for lunch instead of eating the food that was still burning in the oven. “Let’s do that.” he turned off the oven and looked over at him, “What are you in the mood for?” 

Atticus chuckled and looked over at Seth, giving him a playful glare, “Sure it was.” he laughed softly and gave Seth a big grin, taking the pot holder from him and taking the food out, tossing it and turning off the oven. “Maybe some sushi or pizza? I’m kind of torn.” he chuckled, “It’s your call.” he eyed the other man. It was still odd to him that Seth was around, but he really enjoyed his company.
