Family Doesn’t End In Blood {Closed}
After putting Jia down to sleep for the night, Kris had headed to work, leaving Feng home with the girl. She’d managed to somehow convince him to stay over, which Kris wasn’t really complaining about. He enjoyed the hunter's company, and Jia adored him. The deal, though, was that if Feng stayed, Jia would have to sleep in her room for once.
Generally, Kris had Jia sleeping next to him every night. The girl was clingy ever since she was born, despite his every attempt to persuade her to sleep on her own. To be honest, it was more of a hassle to make her sleep on her own than to just accept her sleeping next to him, especially when he rarely got sleep in the first place. So the deal worked out this way, slipping into the bed next to Feng once he got home from work to get a couple hours of sleep before Jia woke him up.
It wasn’t even an hour in that he heard the blood-curdling scream. He didn’t even think he was fully awake yet, but his body was already moving as he ran to Jia’s bedroom, eyes wide as he stared at the scene in front of him. “Lin?” The woman had Jia wrapped in her arms, though she was kicking and screaming. “Lin, let her go! You aren’t supposed to be here!” He shouted, taking a step toward her. The moment Jia heard Kris’ voice she stopped screaming, sobs taking their place as she reached for him.
“She’s not yours, Kris, she’s mine. She was never yours! I’m taking her back!” She practically growled, causing Kris’ eyes to narrow, a dangerous look to appear in his eyes. “She’s a hell of a lot more my daughter than yours! I named her, I raised her while you were going crazy! You’re just lucky she wasn’t put into the system! You had your chance to raise her, but you fucked it up the moment you became violent around her! She is mine, so hand her over!” He didn’t even wait for her to answer, rushing her and grabbing a handful of her hair and tugging hard.
“Feng, can you take Jia, please?”
