Fuck. Redwood Hollow Review. This was the last thing he needed right now, and he didn’t need this to reach Hayden’s attention. Hayden would flip his lid. Paxton walked his way through town to get to Patricks place and ignored anyone that made any attempt to engage in any communication with him. Paxton let himself into his brothers home and called out for him “Patrick! Patrick!” he yelled, checking from room to room “Get your fucking arse out here!”

Mary was pissed. After being on a break with Sirius, and losing the game -- the last thing she wanted to do was celebrate. She’d made a beeline for her dorm when she collided into another, letting out a string of angry curse words. “You better- Oh. Patrick.” The girl visibly relaxed at the sight of her cousin. “Sorry, bad day.”

Andromeda was leaning against a tree, eyes scanning the party as she sipped at her wine. A soft smile was on her lips as she watched the scene, frowning as she saw her grumpy cousin --wanting to comfort him but knowing he probably wouldn’t want that. She sighed, footsteps nearby snapping her back to reality as she turned to face the boy. “Oh, sorry, was in a world of my own, did you say something?”

“I’ll help.” He promised softly as she worked on the lock. Injured and exhausted or not, she was saving his life. The last thing he would do would be to bail on her when she needed to find someone else. He closed his eyes. “I think it’s 6342.” He offered, hoping he was right so he could finally get out of the cell. He had limited energy, maybe two shifts at the most. But if it helped her after she saved him, then so be it.
She didn’t have the time nor the energy to argue with him. No she had to get him out so that she could find her sister before they started running tests on the 6 year olds blood like they had been doing on her to figure out just how this blood curse worked....like they had been presummably doing to the man in front of her. She nodded quickly at his words, keying in the number quickly. Once the little light turned green she pulled enough so that the door would open before taking off running down the hall quickly looking in each cell.
“Cass?” She peered into them until she finally found the littlegirl behind a door curled up in a ball, not paying attention to if the man she had freed was behind her or not. “Cass? Its okay baby...I’m here. I’m going to get you out.” She promised to the crying little girl, looking around wildly for some way to get the door opened, there was no way that the codes were the same after all.
Just fell down the rabbit hole of looking up death rates, demographics, etc. to see how likely it is that there are rumors of miraculous recoveries around NYC while Patrick is living there.
Like for a short starter from Patrick!
On Those Who Lack(?) "Cosmic Indifference"
“Patrick” loves humans, but especially if it’s not viewing a creature through that lens of its ‘near-mortal’ aspect, humankind really can’t rely on its protection. It may well care more for an alien species out to destroy Earth, or be unwilling to provoke a fight with a current ally. Though it does care more for certain specific people, being one of them doesn’t really help matters, for the most part. There’s no way to know who else it is fond of, or if it has other priorities it would consider more important… and Patrick, who only knows this tiny sliver of his own mind, cannot help much with that. There is a strong chance it will weep for you, in its way, but still let your cities burn. It loves you, but a greater love could stay its hand.
Or hey, maybe it’s dealing with one of its favorites; someone it would readily destroy worlds to aid. That’s all well and good, until that favorite is not you.
The sinkhole entity, on the other hand, is pretty much solely focused on its own little domain, and desperately wants things to be perfectly right for its people. It wants to make them happy, it wants to keep them safe, and it recognizes that those two things are sometimes incompatible. It tries so hard, but it frequently doesn’t understand humans and ends up doing some horrifying things as a result. And as much as it may like them, it’s highly unlikely to seek to understand humans in anything close to the way Patrick will post-awakening, either. It just wants to know enough to care for them properly. Should it see that they're in danger, or unhappy, it's prone to taking what most humans would see as drastic measures in order to correct for that.
