slightly drunken conversations
Cecilia looked around her apartment after she sent the last text to Dorian; looking to Oscar who lay beside her on the couch to the empty bottle of wine and glass that stood alone on her coffee table. He was coming to see her and Oscar. It was going to be the first time that he would see her new place in Vegas and Oscar. She was nervous and it couldn’t be blamed on the wine because she had been drinking plenty of water and was sobering up so it was the nerves she got from seeing him again. Cecilia hadn’t seen Dorian since the gala then she had gone on his little scavenger hunt - which she did love and enjoy even thought it was quite the emotional rollercoaster - and now these texts. She had seen very little of him since his arrival to Vegas and that should have been a good thing but it wasn’t. She missed him; missed talking to him, sleeping next to him, hanging out in the same room as him, and having dinner with him. But she couldn’t forgive him. They still haven’t talked about their issues and that conversation wasn’t going to happen tonight. It shouldn’t happened after a couple - or really more than a few - glasses of wine. She knew that.
Getting up from her spot on the couch, Cecilia picked up the evidence of her various glasses of wine and brought them to the kitchen. Now she was faced with the choice with pouring herself another glass or have a glass of water.....water was the better choice. Taking the glass of water, Cecilia headed back to the living room to wait for him when she passed the mirror hung on her white walls. Starting at her reflection, Cecilia brushed back her blonde hair and wiped under her eyes to get rid of the tiny mascara smudge before shaking her head at how silly she was being. She shouldn’t care what he thought after everything but she did and she wasn’t sure if it was obvious to him or anyone else but she couldn’t worry about that when the sound of her doorbell chimed through her home. Since Oscar wasn’t distracted by his food, he ran to the door barking and she couldn’t help but laugh at her dog as she followed him to the front door. Unlocking the door, Cecilia put her foot out to block Oscar from escaping from the apartment and looked up to meet the blue eyes of her husband. “Hey,” she quietly said. “Did you find it okay?”
