Nova walked across the tables looking for someone with a phone. There has to be someone with a working phone. She spotted the male holding the phone by the table. Finally! Nova slowly approached the other with a smile.
“Sawasdee.” She gave a quick bow. “I hope you don’t mind me asking but could I borrow your phone?” She smiled. “I promise I am contacting someone very important.

Gabe sighed as he ran his hands through his hair. He frowned at the woman. He still loved her. Probably always would. He never would expect that he’d find love for himself again and certainly didn’t think he would on the job of all places. But he had and now she hated him. He looked up at her. “I know you don’t want to see me and I know this may come off as stalkery but I’ve just done my job and I want you to know that I am sorry if I hurt you.”
-------------- Are you sure this place is abandoned?
---------- I don't think I've ever seen you so dressed up.

The knock at the door came a few moments later. Gabriel was born on another solar system. Now his brother lived just across the hall. Scott imagined how their parents would feel if they had known, years later the summers children would find each other, living together in the same hallway. The thought surprises him. So rarely does he think of his parents as people anymore and without pain.
Gabriel had reminded him of that. In what fraction of time his brother had gotten with them before the end, he had seen Christopher and Katherine Summers for brave loving people they were. -And who would haunt him from the afterlife, even moreso than they already did, if he stood by and let their son carry the burden of what happened.
He scanned over the last few messages as he waited. Why couldn’t I save her, and let his phone drop in his back pocket pushing the door open. With notorious thieves on campus, you’d think people would be more tight with security. He spotted the younger man and without a word wrapped his arms around him.

400 ft down and it was getting cold. Scott could see his breath catch the light as it wafted in front of his headlamp. The scurrying of bats had faded, wildlife was all but reduced to the slippery algae clinging to the rocks. The only light in the cave was from three headlights, and the bent glowsticks lying below marking the bottom of the crevasse. The only sound was from the drips of water, and their voices, less so from him. The eldest had become quieter the deeper they descended. .
He was steadily abseiling down the wall of the rockface. Two other beams of light above told him of his brothers’ locations. A rope was threaded through their three harnesses as a last resort should one of them fall. There came the sound of rocks crashing. Scott froze. His beam of light searching for his two brothers. “SITREP. What was that?!”

The moment he heard about the news, the fact his friend was in the hospital due to an accident. Henry had his heart pounding; even if bad news were common, those were the moments that reminded himself of his father, and all he tried to feel was relief while hegot out of his apartment, taking Bea with him and leaving her with Jane. While she could’ve visited Gavril with him and share with the other man, her smile, grace and stories about school and her new accomplishment during swim classes, things that could help him get better. Henry decided it was for the best to wait until Gabe himself was better to have the company of a child inside of the hospital, a moment where Beatrice’s light and adorableness would share joy with Gavril. There was also the idea of Beatrice being close to germs and diseases that didn’t sit well with Henry.
Finally arriving at the hospital, a few minutes spent at the reception while waiting for the moment they would let him it, Henry made quick steps until Gavril’s room, knocking on the door just to make him aware of his arrival. An accident was never a pretty thing, specially the consequences left after that. “Life wasn’t kind to you. You’re already ugly, mate and now...” Henry could only hope his joke would be taken lightly as he shared a weak smile. “So, what happened? How’re you feeling?” It was awkward to look at Gavril and somehow, thinking about him as a vulnerable person. Everyone lives inside of that bubble that nothing bad can happen to those they love until the moment something happen. He cared deeply about Gavril even when he moved out of Melbourne to follow his own dreams about the band. He was his friend and it wasn’t easy to see his friend like that.
