It had been a few days after the fight when Hunter had found out about max and some sort of accident. He wasn’t sure what it was that injured his brother so bad, but he felt anger towards the creature and wanted to search for it himself - but to do that he would need to find out who or what it was. 

As he climbed through the window into the room Max was in, he moved over to the bed to tap the male slightly. “Max, Hey bud! It’s me..” he stated to the other. “I had to climb in through the window, mom’s like some sort of bodyguard out there...” he admitted. “How are you doing..”

After running into a few familiar faces from the university and various places around town, Kalinda was feeling a little more comfortable, but the sheer amount of people at the gala was making her flush and at this point, the woman needed air. 

It was a breath of fresh air when she finally broke out of the rear doors of the building, venturing into the garden area the venue provided. There were a few people lingering out there: a couple smoking and leaning in closely to each other, a younger looking girl that couldn’t be more than sixteen staring into her drink with a dazed expression and a man in his fifties with a shiny bald head munching on a cookie.

Kalinda herself made her way to a bench seated against the wall. Plopping herself down with a satisfied sigh, she was prepared to be in her usual and comforting role as an observer until the party called her back again.

Eleanor paid Max’s bail and was escorted to the lobby where she’d find him. Sure, finding out your brother was in jail wasn’t ideal but she’d rather see him than the the patient who kept hitting on her. The brunette’s excitement couldn’t be contained as she saw a familiar face sitting on the bench. 

“Max!” She exclaimed, rushing past the officer and into the arms of her brother. Eleanor felt a sudden rush of relief wash over her. She’d probably have to give him some lecture but for now she was content with having him in her arms. He felt like home.

She separated herself from him before smacking Max upside his head. “You know you’ve could’ve easily called from the airport to give me a heads up that you were here. I would’ve liked it better than finding out you’re in jail while in the middle of giving a pregnancy diagnosis.”

Max tended to keep decent tabs on who was coming in and out of his apartment building. It was not only habit but safety for himself. Mainly due to his unusual habits. So when there was a woman entering the lobby as he was replacing a few locks on the mailboxes, it caught his attention. He kept working, trying not to make it seem like he was focused on her.

Women in particular made him uncomfortable. He wasn't the most social person to begin with and often times, he fell too hard too quick. The rejection always killed him. But he could already feel the pull and the desire to know more about her.
